About The Role

The Inventory Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory valuation, cost accounting, and financial reporting processes. This role ensures inventory transactions, controls, and reconciliations are aligned with operational and financial requirements. The position partners with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to support accurate reporting, cost analysis, and inventory integrity.

What You’ll Do

  • Inventory Accounting & Financial Reporting

    • Maintain accurate inventory records, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

    • Perform monthly inventory reconciliations, ensuring alignment between physical counts and

    financial records.

    • Analyse inventory variances, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.

    • Prepare journal entries related to inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and adjustments.

    • Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting.

  • Cost Accounting & Analysis

    • Support standard costing processes, including cost updates, roll-ups, and variance analysis.

    • Analyse material, labour, and overhead costs to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

    • Partner with operations to understand production costs and support cost control initiatives.

    • Assist in developing and maintaining cost models and financial forecasts related to inventory.

    • Provide reporting and insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency.

  • Controls, Compliance & Process Improvement

    • Ensure adherence to internal controls related to inventory transactions and financial reporting.

    • Support physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and audit activities.

    • Maintain documentation and processes to support audit readiness and compliance requirements.

    • Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, processes, and system controls.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance inventory management and reporting practices.

Additional Expectations

  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.

  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.

  • Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.

  • Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing finance.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.

  • Strong understanding of inventory processes, cost accounting, and financial reporting.

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).

  • Proficiency in Excel, including data analysis and reconciliation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations and supply chain teams.

  • Knowledge of internal controls and audit processes.

Experience

Required
