Position Summary

The IT Security Manager leads day-to-day cybersecurity operations across the Americas region, supporting Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Brazil. The role is accountable for coordinating regional security operations, leading the IT Security team, driving remediation and operational improvements, and ensuring cybersecurity initiatives are executed effectively across the region. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring both technical depth and the ability to lead people, priorities, and cross-functional initiatives. Working closely with the IT Security Director, this position helps execute regional cybersecurity strategy and serves as the primary operational backup when required.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of IT Security professionals through goal setting, performance management, and career development.

  • Assign work, establish priorities, and drive accountability for timely completion of operational and project activities.

  • Provide technical mentorship, decision support, and escalation assistance to team members.

  • Promote accountability, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

Regional Security Operations

  • Coordinate day-to-day cybersecurity operations across Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Brazil.

  • Own the execution and tracking of regional cybersecurity operational priorities, including remediation activities, security initiatives, recurring operational reviews, and assigned security actions.

  • Partner with regional IT, Infrastructure, Manufacturing IT, Service Delivery, and Global Cybersecurity teams.

  • Monitor regional security posture and coordinate remediation of identified security gaps and exceptions.

  • Identify cybersecurity risks, operational gaps, and recurring issues; drive remediation where possible and escalate significant risks, resource constraints, or unresolved issues to the IT Security Director.

  • Represent the Americas IT Security organization during meetings, projects, and operational activities when delegated by the IT Security Director.

  • Develop technical solutions, automation, and operational improvements that increase security effectiveness and reduce manual effort.

Security Technologies & Operations

  • Administer and provide operational leadership for enterprise security platforms supporting endpoint protection, vulnerability management, identity security, compliance, and security operations.

  • Lead endpoint security, vulnerability management, patch compliance oversight, and security compliance initiatives.

  • Coordinate with the Security Operations Center during security investigations and incident response activities, ensuring required regional actions are assigned, tracked, and completed.

  • Monitor security platform health, coordinate upgrades, and recommend operational or technical improvements.

  • Establish, monitor, and report operational security metrics, identifying trends, exceptions, overdue remediation, and areas requiring management attention.

  • Develop automation, reporting, dashboards, and technical workflows that improve security visibility, consistency, and effectiveness.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Support cybersecurity audits, customer requirements, and regulatory or contractual compliance initiatives.

  • Assist with implementation and enforcement of corporate cybersecurity standards, policies, and security best practices.

  • Participate in regional IT and business initiatives to identify cybersecurity requirements, risks, and required controls during planning and implementation.

  • Develop and maintain operational procedures, runbooks, technical documentation, and recurring security review processes.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase automation, strengthen accountability, and reduce operational risk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, infrastructure security, endpoint management, or security operations.

  • Demonstrated experience leading employees or technical teams, including assigning work, establishing priorities, mentoring staff, and driving accountability for results.

  • Experience setting employee goals, conducting performance reviews, and supporting career development.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, endpoint security, vulnerability management, identity security, and incident response.

  • Experience with PowerShell or other scripting and automation technologies.

  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with technical and business teams across Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Brazil.

  • Ability to travel throughout the Americas as business needs require.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience administering enterprise security platforms such as Tanium, CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Sentinel, Deep Instinct, or ServiceNow.

  • Experience supporting manufacturing, operational technology environments, or multinational organizations.

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, or TISAX.

  • Relevant cybersecurity or technology certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, Microsoft Security, CrowdStrike, or Tanium.

Working Conditions

Required to sit or stand for extended periods. May occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Regional travel and participation in meetings across multiple time zones may be required.
