Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Software Engineer to lead the design, development, modernization, and support of business-critical software applications. This role will serve as the technical leader for a development team, providing hands-on architecture, full-stack software development, and technical direction across multiple initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Microsoft technologies, full-stack application development, and software architecture. Experience within the oil and gas industry, particularly hydraulic fracturing operations and modeling applications, is highly desirable.

Key Roles / Responsibilities:

Serve as the lead developer and technical authority for software development initiatives.

Design, architect, develop, test, and support enterprise software applications.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to internal and external development resources.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and operational personnel to define software requirements and technical solutions.

Lead full software development lifecycle activities, including architecture, design reviews, coding standards, deployment planning, and ongoing support.

Develop and maintain applications spanning front-end, middleware, API, and database layers.

Drive modernization efforts involving legacy applications, cloud migration, and cloud-native architecture adoption.

Support integration of operational and engineering data systems, including real-time data collection, analytics, and reporting solutions.

Coordinate and effectively work with offshore development resources when applicable.

Ensure scalability, security, reliability, and performance of software platforms.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Minimum of 5 years of experience developing, designing, and/or architecting enterprise software applications.

Strong Microsoft technology background with hands-on experience in C++, MFC (Microsoft Foundation Class Library), C#, .NET/.NET Core, and SQL Server.

Experience developing and supporting Windows-based desktop and/or customer-facing business applications.

Strong database design and development experience, including SQL Server and SQL database technologies.

Experience developing middleware, APIs, integrations, and service-oriented applications.

Experience with modern front-end technologies such as Angular, React, React Native, or similar frameworks.

Experience managing software development efforts using Azure DevOps or JIRA, including requirements management, work tracking, and release coordination.

Experience developing applications in cloud environments, with Microsoft Azure preferred.

Demonstrated ability to serve as a lead developer or technical lead, providing technical direction, mentoring team members, and driving software delivery.

Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, scalability, performance optimization, and maintainability best practices.

Experience working across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:

Experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly hydraulic fracturing, completions, or related engineering operations.

Experience with FracPro or similar fracturing modeling and simulation software.

Experience with fracturing modeling applications, including competitor products.

Engineering operations modeling experience.

Experience working with or managing offshore development resources.

Experience with real-time data collection, integration, analytics, or operational systems; 1-2 years preferred.

Experience modernizing legacy applications and migrating solutions to cloud-based environments.

Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native application architectures.

Experience with REST APIs, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development methodologies.
Working Conditions:
