Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Java Software Engineer role based in Los Angeles. The Java Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services and microservices that power HummingBird’s AI-driven talent platform. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, efficient Java code, implementing and extending Spring-based applications, integrating with external systems and APIs, and ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability of services. The role involves collaborating closely with product managers, data and AI teams, and other engineers to deliver new features, improve existing functionality, and support a unified recruitment ecosystem. The engineer will also participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and help maintain best practices for security, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience building scalable backend applications.

  • Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Java and the Spring Framework (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data) for enterprise-grade application development.

  • Candidates should possess experience with Microservices architecture, including designing, developing, and deploying distributed services.

  • Candidates should possess familiarity with RESTful APIs, relational and/or NoSQL databases, and integration with third-party systems.

  • Candidates should possess understanding of version control tools (such as Git), build and dependency management tools, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Candidates should possess strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

  • Relevant qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in scalable cloud-based environments, security best practices, and performance optimization is beneficial.
