Role Description

The Junior Estimator role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Doha Metropolitan Area. The Junior Estimator will assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for fit-out, joinery, and wellness installation projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and bill of quantities. Day-to-day tasks include collecting and reviewing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, updating cost databases, and preparing preliminary budgets and tender documents under the guidance of senior estimators. The role involves coordinating with project managers, engineers, and designers to clarify scope, verify measurements, and ensure estimates reflect project requirements and local regulations. The Junior Estimator will also support cost tracking during project execution, contribute to value engineering options, and prepare clear documentation and reports for internal review and client submissions.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret architectural, interior design, and joinery drawings, with strong attention to detail and basic quantity take-off skills.

• Foundational knowledge of estimation principles, cost analysis, and budgeting for construction, fit-out, or joinery projects.

• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), and familiarity with estimation or project management software; CAD exposure is an advantage.

• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to compare quotations and identify cost variances.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers in a professional manner.

• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tenders and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and completeness in documentation.

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Prior internship or 1–2 years of experience in estimation, quantity surveying, or related construction/fit-out roles is preferred, especially within the GCC region.

• Knowledge of local market rates, materials, and suppliers in Qatar is an added benefit.
