Position Summary
Agility Technologies Inc. is seeking a motivated Junior Full Stack Software Engineer – AI & Cloud Applications to join our technology team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong Computer Science foundation and hands-on experience building modern web applications. This role is suited for an early-career engineer who can take ownership of well-defined assignments, work independently, troubleshoot technical problems, and collaborate effectively with developers, architects, and other team members.
The engineer will work with technologies such as Next.js, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, REST APIs, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role will also provide opportunities to develop and integrate AI-enabled applications, generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and open-source technologies.
Candidates are not expected to be experts in every technology listed but should demonstrate strong technical fundamentals, hands-on development experience, problem-solving ability, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain modern full-stack web applications.

Develop front-end applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

Develop back-end services, APIs, business logic, and integrations using Node.js, TypeScript, Python, or similar technologies.

Develop and consume RESTful APIs and integrate applications with databases, cloud services, and external systems.

Take ownership of assigned development tasks from requirements through implementation, testing, documentation, and deployment.

Independently investigate technical issues, identify root causes, and develop solutions, escalating when appropriate.

Develop and prototype AI-enabled applications using LLM APIs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompt engineering, AI agents, and related technologies.

Work with SQL and/or NoSQL databases and appropriate data models.

Build, package, and deploy applications using Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services.

Deploy and support applications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform environments.

Use Git and GitHub for source control, branching, pull requests, and code reviews.

Write clean, secure, maintainable, tested, and well-documented code.

Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, APIs, integrations, configurations, and deployment processes.

Clearly communicate technical concepts, implementation approaches, issues, and recommendations to technical and non-technical team members.

Research and evaluate emerging AI, cloud, web development, DevOps, and open-source technologies.

Follow company cybersecurity, data protection, secure development, and responsible AI requirements.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from an accredited college or university – REQUIRED.

Approximately 1–2 years of software development experience. Relevant internships, substantive academic/capstone projects, research, independent development, or open-source contributions may be considered.

Demonstrated hands-on experience building functional software applications.

Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript and familiarity with React, Next.js, or a comparable modern web framework.

Understanding of both front-end and back-end application development.

Programming experience with an additional language such as Python, Java, or C#.

Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, databases, application integrations, and modern web architecture.

Familiarity with Git/GitHub, Docker, cloud computing, CI/CD, and application deployment concepts.

Foundational understanding of AI, generative AI, or large language model technologies.

Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently research and resolve technical issues.

Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to work independently on defined assignments while collaborating effectively within a development team.

Ability to learn new technologies, frameworks, APIs, and development tools quickly.
Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Next.js and TypeScript.

Experience developing full-stack applications using React/Next.js with Node.js, Python, FastAPI, or similar technologies.

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD technologies.

Experience deploying applications or services to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.

Experience developing AI-enabled applications using commercial or open-source models and APIs.

Familiarity with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool/function calling, and AI agents.

Familiarity with AI frameworks such as Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch, or similar technologies.

Familiarity with authentication and authorization technologies such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, and JWT.

Open-source contributions, substantive GitHub repositories, internships, capstone projects, or independent projects demonstrating end-to-end software development.

Interest in developing technology solutions for federal government and defense customers.
