Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an Junior Mechanical Engineer with strong knowledge of swimming pool construction, mechanical systems, and maintenance. The candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems associated with swimming pools and related facilities. The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of pool filtration systems, pumps, piping, water treatment systems, heating systems, and mechanical equipment, along with good AutoCAD skills for reviewing and preparing technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise mechanical works related to swimming pool construction and maintenance.

  • Review project specifications, drawings, BOQs, and technical requirements.

  • Prepare and review mechanical shop drawings using AutoCAD.

  • Coordinate swimming pool mechanical systems with Civil, Electrical, Architectural, and MEP works.

  • Design/review pool circulation and filtration systems.

  • Select and coordinate appropriate pool pumps, filters, valves, strainers, dosing systems, and associated equipment.

  • Supervise installation of pool mechanical equipment and piping systems.

  • Review hydraulic requirements and ensure proper water circulation and flow rates.

  • Supervise installation of:

  • Pool circulation pumps

  • Sand/media filters

  • Dosing and chemical treatment systems

  • Chlorination systems

  • Heat pumps / pool heaters

  • Pool drainage systems

  • Skimmers and balancing tanks

  • Water features and fountains

  • Piping and valves

  • Mechanical plant-room equipment

  • Conduct inspections of mechanical installations and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.

  • Coordinate pressure testing, flushing, testing, and commissioning of pool mechanical systems.

  • Diagnose mechanical faults and develop appropriate corrective actions.

  • Prepare preventive maintenance schedules for pool mechanical equipment.

  • Supervise maintenance activities and ensure equipment operates efficiently.

  • Monitor pumps, motors, filters, valves, dosing equipment, and other mechanical systems.

  • Troubleshoot breakdowns and coordinate repair works.

  • Monitor spare parts, tools, materials, and equipment requirements.

  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors regarding technical issues and equipment requirements.

  • Prepare technical reports, inspection reports, maintenance reports, and progress reports.

  • Ensure all works comply with applicable HSE and quality requirements.

  • Support the Project Manager in planning, execution, and completion of projects.

  • Participate in client/consultant meetings and provide technical support.

  • Assist with preparation of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, testing and commissioning documents, and handover documentation.

  • Swimming pool circulation systems , Pool filtration systems, Sand/media filters, Pool pumps and motors, Chemical dosing systems, Chlorination systems, pH control systems, Heat pumps and pool heating systems, Balancing tanks, Skimmer systems, Pool drainage, Pool piping systems, Valves and strainers, Water features and fountains, Jacuzzi / spa systems, Pool plant rooms, Hydraulic calculations, Equipment selection, Preventive and corrective maintenance

  • Prepare and modify 2D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD.

  • Review pool mechanical layouts and equipment-room layouts.

  • Prepare piping layouts and equipment connection details.

  • Review pipe routing and identify potential clashes.

  • Update drawings based on site conditions.

  • Prepare as-built drawings.

  • Coordinate drawings with Civil, Architectural, Electrical, and other MEP disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Relevant professional engineering certification is preferred.

  • UPDA/MMUP certification is an advantage for Qatar-based candidates.

  • AutoCAD certification/training is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in swimming pool construction and/or maintenance is highly preferred.

  • Experience in residential villas, hotels, clubs, schools, commercial facilities, or large swimming pool projects is an advantage.

Pay: QAR4,000.00 - QAR4,500.00 per month
