Job description
Western Work Force are currently seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Project Engineer to join our client, a resources, infrastructure and energy company based in Applecross, WA.
The successful candidate will initially be working on a major project-based SOR, working standard Monday–Friday hours.
There is no FIFO roster requirement, however, you will need to be comfortable undertaking occasional short-term FIFO/site visits where required to oversee project progress, commissioning, shutdowns and key project milestones.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead electrical projects through the full project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

Provide technical leadership and engineering guidance to project teams and contractors.

Review electrical designs, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.

Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, cost reporting and progress updates.

Oversee procurement activities, including technical requisitions, tender evaluations, equipment selection and vendor management.

Identify project risks and opportunities and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing and final handover activities.

Conduct site inspections, quality audits and progress reviews to ensure projects meet required standards.

Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Ensure all project activities comply with WHS legislation and HSEQ requirements.

Prepare project reports, technical documentation and updates for senior management and clients.

Assist with tender submissions, project planning, business improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You:
-
Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer with strong experience delivering electrical construction projects within a contractor environment – essential.

Proven experience across project delivery, procurement, construction and commissioning, with the ability to manage budgets, schedules, costs and reporting.

Confident providing technical leadership and building strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.

Strong focus on safety, quality and project delivery, with experience in construction, industrial, resources, energy or major projects highly regarded.
What’s on Offer:

$170K – $190K + super, depending on experience.

Permanent, full-time Monday–Friday position.

Primarily based from the Applecross Head Office.
