The Role

We are seeking an experienced

Logistics Excellence Manager

to lead logistics improvement programs, process optimization, performance management, operational standards, digital transformation, and continuous-improvement initiatives across the logistics network.

The ideal candidate will combine logistics expertise, analytical capability, project leadership, and change-management skills to improve service levels, reduce logistics costs, increase operational productivity, and establish sustainable best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a logistics excellence strategy aligned with business and supply chain objectives.

• Establish logistics operating standards, processes, governance frameworks, and performance expectations.

• Review end-to-end logistics processes covering transportation, warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, and delivery.

• Identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, waste, cost drivers, and operational risks.

• Lead continuous-improvement initiatives across logistics operations and regional markets.

• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, root-cause analysis, and other improvement methodologies where appropriate.

• Standardize logistics processes across locations, facilities, and operating teams.

• Develop and maintain logistics standard operating procedures and process documentation.

• Define logistics performance metrics, benchmarks, targets, and reporting requirements.

• Develop dashboards for logistics cost, service, productivity, capacity, and operational performance.

• Monitor logistics KPIs and identify performance gaps requiring corrective action.

• Conduct regular logistics performance reviews with regional and operational stakeholders.

• Analyze transportation costs, warehouse costs, delivery performance, utilization, and productivity.

• Identify opportunities to reduce cost-to-serve without compromising customer service.

• Optimize warehouse processes, including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and returns.

• Improve transportation planning, routing, load utilization, carrier performance, and delivery efficiency.

• Partner with Distribution and Inventory teams to improve stock flow and fulfillment performance.

• Collaborate with Procurement to evaluate logistics suppliers, contracts, service levels, and cost opportunities.

• Work with Finance to quantify savings, benefits, productivity improvements, and investment requirements.

• Lead logistics benchmarking and identify best practices from internal and external operations.

• Develop business cases for logistics transformation and operational improvement projects.

• Evaluate automation, robotics, warehouse systems, transportation platforms, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.

• Support implementation of warehouse-management, transportation-management, and logistics technology.

• Improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and visibility across logistics operations.

• Establish structured problem-solving processes for recurring operational issues.

• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective-action programs for major logistics failures.

• Develop logistics capability-building programs, training materials, and improvement workshops.

• Coach operational teams on process discipline, performance management, and continuous improvement.

• Coordinate cross-functional improvement projects involving Supply Chain, Operations, Technology, Finance, and Commercial teams.

• Develop project plans, milestones, dependencies, resources, and risk-management actions.

• Monitor project benefits and ensure improvements are sustained after implementation.

• Support logistics network optimization and capacity-planning initiatives.

• Improve resilience and contingency planning for transportation, warehousing, and distribution disruptions.

• Identify opportunities to improve customer experience through faster, more reliable, and more flexible logistics services.

• Promote sustainability initiatives covering transportation efficiency, energy consumption, packaging, waste, and emissions.

• Establish governance for logistics improvement pipelines and prioritize initiatives based on business value.

• Prepare management reports and executive presentations covering logistics performance and transformation progress.

• Ensure logistics processes comply with applicable safety, quality, regulatory, and operational requirements.

• Conduct periodic operational audits and maturity assessments.

• Develop corrective and preventive action plans based on audit and performance findings.

• Track realized benefits and communicate improvement outcomes to senior leadership.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate should have strong experience in

logistics excellence, supply chain improvement, logistics operations, operational excellence, process transformation, warehouse management, transportation, or continuous improvement

, preferably within retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, or other complex international environments.

The candidate should demonstrate:

• Strong understanding of logistics, warehousing, transportation, distribution, and fulfillment operations.

• Proven experience leading logistics improvement and transformation initiatives.

• Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or comparable continuous-improvement methodologies.

• Experience developing operational standards, SOPs, governance frameworks, and performance-management systems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to analyze operational data and translate findings into practical improvement actions.

• Experience with WMS, TMS, ERP, logistics analytics, or related technology platforms.

• Strong financial understanding of logistics costs, productivity, savings, and investment cases.

• Experience managing cross-functional projects and transformation programs.

• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills.

• Ability to influence operational teams without relying solely on direct authority.

• Experience working with third-party logistics providers and external partners.

• Strong understanding of operational risk, resilience, safety, and compliance.

• Experience working with international and distributed teams.

• Strong proficiency in English; additional languages are advantageous.
