Job description

Our clients count on us when the stakes are high — and that's where you come in. As an M&A Integration & Carve Out Advisor, you'll play a vital role in helping organisations unlock value, manage risk, and navigate the complexity of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. You'll be working with clients across the Energy, Utilities & Resources sectors, as well as the broader mining value chain, throughout the Western Australian market.

Why PwC?

At PwC Australia, your skills meet purpose. We tackle big challenges across industries like finance, technology, energy, and health — giving you the chance to make a real impact. Here, your growth is our priority. You’ll work with leading teams, explore new technologies, and unlock your full potential.

Join a global community of more than 370,000 people who value bold ideas, collaboration, and lasting change. Together, we’re building trust and shaping the future.

Our market-leading Deals Strategy & Operations team is continuing to grow across the Brisbane and Perth markets. After a period of working closely with a number of Brisbane and Perth based clients, particularly across the Energy, Utilities & Resources and mining sectors, we're looking for talented professionals based in Brisbane or Perth—or those eager to relocate.

What you’ll do:

  • Pre-Deal value creation advice – how can we create value for our client in this deal?

  • Buy and sell side operational due diligence – has the business been performing well? What could be improved to unlock further value for our client?

  • Synergy assessment and planning – what are the synergies between the businesses and how do we plan to capture them?

  • Carve out and divestment support – what does the business look like when we carve it out from the parent? How will the business undertake the carve out? What support will the business need to function during the transition period?

  • Day 1 to Day 100 – how do we safely take control of the business, manage risk and commence realising synergies in the first 100 days?

  • Integration and optimisation – what is the right level of operational integration (including people, operations, technology, etc.) to optimise the business and grow value? How do we implement sustainable cost savings? How do we run the integration program?

What we’re looking for:

  • A minimum of 6+ years' experience with a strong understanding of business operations, including the key operational and financial drivers that underpin performance.

  • You have previous experience supporting M&A processes, specifically in relation to M&A carve out, operational due diligence, or post-merger integration.

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with confidence in conducting high-level financial analysis.

  • Ability to map and assess business processes, with strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience developing and nurturing internal and external networks and client relationships.

  • A strong awareness of how the Brisbane and Perth markets operate, with demonstrated experience across core industry sectors in these regions.

  • A passion for improving M&A outcomes for clients and a desire to contribute to the development of a high-performing professional services team.

  • Specialisation or deep industry knowledge in the Energy, Utilities & Resources or mining sectors is highly favoured.

Don't meet every requirement? We encourage you to apply. We value all forms of experience that may be transferrable and relevant.

What you’ll gain:

  • The opportunity to work with leading organisations and cutting-edge technology that challenge and expand your expertise.

  • Work within an inclusive environment committed to Inclusion and Diversity and First Nations Prosperity, ensuring diverse perspectives are at the forefront of our work.

  • Flexibility means trusting you to choose when, where, and how you work balancing what’s best for you, your team, and your clients to grow and thrive together.

  • Clear paths for career progression supported by continuous learning and leadership development.

  • Generous leave entitlements to support your work-life balance - including floating public holidays, birthday leave and ability to purchase additional leave on top of your four weeks.

  • A world-class parental leave policy offering up to 26 weeks of leave for caregivers, supporting your family and personal life.
