About Us:

The Motor Trade Association SA/NT (MTA) is the peak body representing the automotive retail, service and repair industry in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Our 1,300 members span publicly listed vehicle dealerships, through to independent mechanical repair workshops, service stations and automotive dismantlers. Our registered training organisation (RTO) and group training organisation (GTO), MTA Training and Employment, is a trusted leader training more than 1,100 apprentices and directly employing more than 450. Guided by core values of Teamwork, Achievement, Accountability, RespectExcellence, and Safety, we proudly champion the automotive industry in SA and NT.

  

About the Role:

  

To be successful in this role you will have broad marketing experience from creative to event production and be top of your class in relationship management. Confidently developing sound strategy, you will lead by example by rolling up your sleeves in an organisation which puts teamwork first. 

  

The successful candidate will bring passion and deliver purpose, with experience delivering complex projects which involves some out of hours work. You will lead, coach and mentor a team of energetic and proud young professionals. What you Will Do:

 

Build the MTA Training and Employment brand

Develop and implement marketing strategies, communications, events and promotional activities to grow training and employment services and drive apprentice recruitment. 

Build MTA Membership brand equity

Deliver strategic marketing initiatives, member communications, partnerships, events and promotional activities to grow membership value, retention and membership growth.

Identify and build new partnerships

Develop and maintain business partnerships across membership, training and employment to drive revenue and in kind contributions. 

Lead and manage the Marketing team

Coach, develop and support team members to deliver marketing plans and initiatives on time and within budget. 

Manage budgets and reporting

Oversee budget planning, monitor marketing expenditure and provide reporting on marketing activity and performance outcomes.

 

What You Will Bring:

  • Marketing, communications or event management qualifications, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing internal and external marketing and communication strategies.

  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and maintaining social media and media strategies.

  • Demonstrated Leadership Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Strategic thinking and planning, analytical skills, attention to detail, negotiation and influencing skills, relationship building, organisation and innovation.

  • Intermediate to advanced capability in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, together with experience using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.

  • A current driver licence.

  • Alignment with the MTA values of Teamwork, Achievement, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Safety.

  • Availability to work outside normal 9 to 5 hours and at other MTA, member, host and external sites where required.
