Job description

We're looking for a commercially minded design engineer with a background in jig and fixture design to work with our team of experienced engineers. The qualified individual will be responsible for designing jigs and fixtures for machine tools and will have some knowledge of automation. Knowledge of gauging, special purpose machinery and mould tools would also be an advantage. It is essential that the individual can communicate effectively with other members of the team and customers, as part of the role will involve working on new proposals for customers. Applicants should be forward-thinking, energetic and ready to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Create 3D models and 2D drawings using Solid Edge Software.
Assess the requirements of the customer and offer proposed solutions.
Take a job from proposal to production through the design process.
Have knowledge of the manufacturing process for jigs and fixtures and design accordingly.
Have some knowledge of automation, gauging, special purpose machinery and mould tool design.
Deal with customer inquiries and questions effectively.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £50,000.00 per year
