Mechanical Engineer – HVAC

About Us

AK Building Contracting L.L.C. (AKBC) is a Dubai-based building contracting company delivering residential, commercial and industrial projects across the UAE. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) to lead and supervise HVAC works on our projects.

Key Responsibilities

* Technical and Site Execution

1. Supervise installation of HVAC systems, including chillers, AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs, VRF/split systems, package units and exhaust/ventilation fans

2. Oversee ductwork, chilled water piping, refrigerant piping, insulation and condensate drainage

3. Review and prepare shop drawings, coordination drawings and HVAC layouts

4. Check heat load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, and equipment selection

5. Ensure correct installation of dampers, diffusers, grilles, valves and controls

6. Resolve technical and clash issues on site with other MEP and civil trades

* Testing and Commissioning

1. Plan and oversee pressure testing, flushing and cleaning of chilled water systems

2. Coordinate Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB) of air and water systems

3. Supervise commissioning of HVAC equipment with suppliers and specialist subcontractors

4. Coordinate BMS integration and controls testing

* Authority Approvals and Coordination

1. Prepare and follow up submissions and inspections with Dubai Civil Defence (smoke management, stair pressurization, car park ventilation), Dubai Municipality and district cooling providers where applicable

2. Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors and suppliers

3. Attend site and progress meetings and close out consultant comments and NCRs

4. Ensure compliance with Dubai Green Building Regulations (Al Sa’fat) where required

* Planning, Procurement and Reporting

1. Prepare BOQs, material take-offs and material submittals

2. Review technical submittals and compare supplier offers

3. Track progress against the project schedule and submit daily/weekly reports

4. Manage manpower and subcontractor work on site

* Quality, Safety and Handover

1. Raise inspection requests (IRs/WIRs) and make sure work meets quality standards

2. Enforce HSE rules and safe working practices, including work at height and hot works

3. Prepare handover documents: as-built drawings, test and commissioning reports, O&M manuals and warranties

4. Support snagging, defect rectification and client training

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

2. 5–7 years of experience in HVAC execution on building projects, with at least 3 years in the UAE

3. Hands-on experience with chilled water systems, VRF, AHUs/FCUs and ducted systems

4. Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; HAP or similar load calculation software is a plus

5. Strong coordination, reporting and problem-solving skills

6. UAE driving license preferred

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
