MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Role Summary

Oversee mechanical engineering works at sites, resolving issues and ensuring that work is completed according to specifications.

Role Description

Ø Negotiating best Mechanical works prices from subcontractors

Ø Site supervision for Mechanical works subcontractors on company’s projects

Ø Coordinate the Mechanical works through the schematic design development, contract document and execution phases of a project.

Ø To liaise with local authorities when required

Ø To ensure safety standards at workplace

Ø To coordinate with client, consultants, and other stake holders

Ø Advise the Project team of any technical aspects of the mechanical services that may affect construction progress

Ø Advise on long lead Mechanical works items that may affect progress of the works.

Ø Continually review the contractor’s construction schedule during the progress of site works with regards to Mechanical works services and report to the project Manager on the same.

Ø Ensure that the Mechanical works documentation is undertaken in line with the project handbook and continually monitor the same.

Ø Review the Mechanical works drawings and make sure all are as per the Local authority standards before submitting

Ø Review contractor’s shop drawing in conjunction with the Architectural team to ensure engineering co-ordination.

Ø Attend project progress meetings.

Ø Participate MEP design team meetings, as required.

Ø Attend the Project Manager’s internal team meetings.

Ø Set up meetings to resolve specific site problems as required to minimize program delays.

Ø Ensure that daily progress reports are produced with regards to Mechanical works.

Ø Monitor the subcontractor resources (Manpower, tools, machineries, materials) as per the project requirement during the project timeline and report to the project manager on timely basis.

Ø Understand the project methodology, work sequence and dependencies and act accordingly with other disciplines like Civil, MEP, Finishing works during project construction.

Ø Candidate shall be able to prepare HAP, Static pressure calculations & Pump Head for chilled water & water Supply system.

Ø Shall have good command on Auto Cad & develop design drawings independently & knowledge on BIM.

Candidate Requirements

Ø The candidate should have a minimum of five to eight years similar mechanical experience, preferably in Hospitality sector.

Ø Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or similar field.

Ø Sound technical knowledge of Mechanical works.

Ø Technical knowledge of other MEP works

Ø Good knowledge of material & subcontracting prices for project estimation purposes

Ø Good interpersonal and communication skills
