Mechanical Engineer – Static

Industry: Oil & Gas / Refinery / Shutdown

Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in Refinery shutdown projects.

• Proven experience in shutdown and turnaround projects, including shutdown preparation and execution.

• Strong experience in static equipment such as pressure vessels, columns, drums, heat exchangers, tanks, and associated equipment.

• Experience in shutdown planning, scope preparation, resource planning, material requirements, and execution.

• Good knowledge of relevant codes, standards, specifications, and safe work practices.

• Experience coordinating with client, engineering, QA/QC, HSE, planning, and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate mechanical static activities for shutdown and turnaround projects.

• Participate in shutdown preparation, including scope review, work-pack preparation, manpower planning, material requirements, and execution planning.

• Review equipment inspection reports and identify required maintenance, repair, replacement, and refurbishment activities.

• Coordinate dismantling, inspection, repair, installation, testing, and reinstatement of static equipment.

• Monitor shutdown activities to ensure completion within the approved schedule.

• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, QA/QC, HSE, planning, and subcontractor teams.

• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with approved procedures, drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.

• Monitor manpower, productivity, materials, tools, and equipment requirements during shutdown execution.

• Identify technical and execution issues and coordinate timely resolution.

• Prepare daily progress updates and support shutdown progress reporting.

• Ensure proper completion, reinstatement, and handover of all assigned activities.
