What You Can Expect

Under the supervision of the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will work on the development and improvement of computer-assisted surgical instruments. You will be responsible for delivering innovative, high-quality designs on schedule and in compliance with applicable standards.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Design and improve reusable and disposable surgical instruments, as well as all physical components required for their delivery (packaging, labels, etc.). This includes participating in solution development, creating 3D models using CAD software, and supporting product design activities.

  • Coordinate prototype fabrication and testing, determine manufacturing processes, create manufacturing drawings, and actively support the transfer of designs into production within an outsourced manufacturing environment.

  • Participate in laboratory sessions and meetings with collaborating surgeons to gather feedback on prototypes under development.

  • Perform analyses including failure mode analysis, dimensional analysis, functional analysis, strength analysis, and other evaluations required for product release.

  • Prepare all quality documentation required for product commercialization, including risk analyses, design requirements, and related documentation.

  • Develop and execute test protocols (design verification) using scientifically validated methods and appropriate statistical techniques.

  • Support the investigation and resolution of customer complaints and nonconforming products by analyzing issues, identifying root causes, reassessing associated risks, and proposing corrective actions.

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of procedures and work instructions related to mechanical design and production within the company’s quality management system.

  • Estimate, plan, and manage projects in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Concevoir et amĂ©liorer des instruments chirurgicaux rĂ©utilisables et jetables, ainsi que toute composante physique nĂ©cessaire Ă  leur livraison (emballages, Ă©tiquettes, 
). Plus prĂ©cisĂ©ment, participer Ă  la recherche de solutions, concevoir les modĂšles 3D sur logiciel CAD.

  • Faire produire et tester les prototypes, dĂ©terminer les procĂ©dĂ©s de fabrication, rĂ©aliser les dessins de fabrication et participer activement au transfert du design vers la production dans un contexte de fabrication en sous traitance.

  • Participer activement Ă  des laboratoires et rencontres avec les chirurgiens collaborateurs pour obtenir le feedback sur les prototypes en cours de dĂ©veloppement.

  • RĂ©aliser des analyses (modes de dĂ©faillances, dimensionelles, fonctionelles, de rĂ©sistance et autres) nĂ©cessaire Ă  la relĂąche des produits.

  • RĂ©diger l’ensemble de la documentation qualitĂ© nĂ©cessaire Ă  la mise en marchĂ© des produits (analyse de risque, requis de conception et autres).

  • Mettre en place des protocoles de tests (vĂ©rification de design) utilisant des mĂ©thodes scientifiquement validĂ©es et utilisant des mĂ©thodes statistiques valides.

  • Participer Ă  la rĂ©solution de plaintes clients et des produits non-conformes en faisant l’analyse du problĂšme, en trouvant les causes, en revoyant les risques associĂ©s et en proposant une solution.

  • Participer Ă  la dĂ©finition et Ă  l’amĂ©lioration continue des procĂ©dures et instructions de travail reliĂ©es Ă  la conception mĂ©canique et Ă  la production Ă  l’intĂ©rieur du systĂšme qualitĂ© de la compagnie.

  • Faire l’estimation, la planification et la gestion des projets

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Good knowledge of metal machining and welded assembly manufacturing processes.

Your Background

  • Mechanical Engineering degree with experience in mechanical design within a highly regulated industry (medical device, aerospace, or similar).

  • Bilingual in French and English, both written and verbal.

  • Strong CAD experience; SolidWorks experience is considered an asset.

  • Willing and available to travel occasionally.

  • Vous ĂȘtes ingĂ©nieur mĂ©canique et avez de l’expĂ©rience en conception mĂ©canique dans une industrie hautement rĂšglementĂ©e (aĂ©ronautique, biomĂ©dical, etc.);

  • Vous ĂȘtes bilingue (français et anglais, Ă©crit et oral).

  • Vous avez acquis une expĂ©rience solide en CAD (SolidWorks constitue un atout).

  • Vous ĂȘtes disponible et intĂ©ressĂ© Ă  effectuer des voyages occasionnels.
