Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses to join the Education & Workforce Development Team for a fixed term period supporting Early Career Nurses.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role:

This role requires an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse with a keen interest in supporting the development of Early Career Nurses (ECN).

This role is responsible for ensuring the development of ECN’s is supported in the workplace.

This position will primarily work with Graduate Nurses but may support other Early Career Nurses.

The successful candidate will work closely with Program Coordinators and the teams where ECN’s are placed.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Minimum four years mental health nursing clinical experience in a range of public Mental Health settings including Older Adults and Adults

• Proven ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

• Demonstrated mentoring/preceptorship skills

• Well-developed communication skills
