Position Summary and Role Impact : **  

This role supports Merchant Compliance by developing a comprehensive understanding of client needs, assisting with issue resolution, and offering appropriate solutions. The Compliance Analyst I helps facilitate ISO and merchant compliance with applicable Card Brand and regulatory requirements, maintains ongoing contact with new and existing clients to support a positive experience with Merrick Bank, and coordinates materials needed for internal and external audit purposes. This position also organizes and maintains internal procedures while identifying, documenting, and monitoring remediation activities resulting from compliance reviews, oversight assessments, and control testing activities .  

 

** Essential Functions: **  

  • Prepare and submit periodic PCI reporting to the Card Brands on the status of merchant compliance, as required by each Card Brand.  

  • Coordinate monthly procedure document updates with process owners.  

  • Prepare and submit quarterly compliance reporting specific to POS PIN Entry Devices.  

  • Maintain accuracy and client communication related to registration and annual renewal processes for registered gateways.  

  • Assist with ad hoc Card Brand compliance matters as they arise.  

  • Facilitate regular compliance-related reporting on a quarterly or monthly basis, as applicable.  

  • Prepare and allocate regular Card Brand billing for the Finance team.  

  • Assist in facilitating various regular Quality Assurance Reviews, as needed.  

  • Assist in collecting the Annual ISO Questionnaire for Business Development.  

  • Support ad hoc projects, as deemed necessary by management.   

** Requirements for Success:  **  

** Education & Experience:  **  

  • Associate’s degree required ; two (2) years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.  

  • Knowledge of the merchant acquiring industry is required .  

  ** Knowledge, Skills and Capabilities:  **  

  • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks appropriately.  

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Visio.  

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills .  

 

** Compliance with Laws & Regulations   **  

  • Responsible for complying with all the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures.  

  • Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject.  

  • Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, policy violations, or illegal acts.  

The salary range for this position, if located in NY Metro/NY State is $66,300 to $70,450. However, please note that the salary range will vary for other geographic areas.
