Job Overview

The Product Manager will collaborate with the senior product manager and with ATS Engineering to create requirements for solutions serving our Android or Linux-based terminals initiatives. The Product Manager (PM) manages project and product interdependencies. The PM will work with the other product managers, scrum masters and engineers to translate use cases and product requirements into engineering requirements. The PM will ensure consistent project execution discipline and practices across ATS, lead or participate in different meetings and organize appropriate follow up meetings to resolve potential issues to improve delivery efficiency and effectiveness of the product launch packages: hardware, software, documentation for the end user, service, sales and marketing. The Product Manager will take direction from and receive supervision by the Senior Product Manager on a day-to-day basis.

Duties

  • Translates use cases and user requirements, developed in collaboration with all stakeholders, to system requirements and product engineering requirements. Consistently represent the voice of the customer in design and implementation decisions.

  • Request engineers to document key aspects of their designs during the development process, create customer-facing documentation content and organize the relevant product documentation.

  • Own and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap demonstrating high level deliverables for the upcoming 24 months. Present and gain input/acceptance from all related stakeholders to ensure confidence in the outlined timeline.

  • Participates in development planning sessions and helps steer engineering teams to develop against requirements. Participates in projects scrum meetings and the scrum of scrums meeting. Works with QA to define test cases that will validate that the product and system meet the requirements.

  • Acts as a product SME to support sales, customer support, DevOps to assist in trouble shooting activities or provide potential work around solutions to customers. Help prioritize development efforts to resolve customer reported issues.

  • Serve a project coordinator role in the execution of various projects with the managers of all applicable cross functional teams, which can include Sales, Product Management, Development teams, QA, Marketing, Procurement, DevOps, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Finance. Hold regular project coordination meetings with the appropriate managers, ensure good cross functional communication, and clarify towards the line managers what is required of their team members.

  • Create & maintain Gannt style trackable charts for all deliverables to be made by all departments, to guarantee successful product progression from research & development, to alpha, beta, pilot and launch.

  • Escalates to upper management any issues that substantially affect a product, such as critical features, cost, customer value proposition, product delivery timeline, data security, or data privacy.

  • Perform related duties assigned, within the scope of the position.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in technical background (engineering, computer science, or relevant product management experience for hardware and software solutions, and a passion for bringing technology products to the market).

  • Demonstrated ability to grasp customer needs and translate those to scalable and secure system architectures.

  • Strong system thinking and understanding of different components making up a solution: cloud components as well as edge solutions.

  • In depth understanding or ability to learn and understand the market dynamics anticipate the future needs of customers.

  • 5+ years of experience serving as a product manager, with a strong focus on electronic devices and software.

  • Strong understanding of hardware design, product specifications, manufacturing processes, and related technologies.

  • Hands-on experience leading teams under Agile methodologies as a product owner/product manager.

  • Successful product deployment into production.

  • Very good communication skills: verbal as well as written communication.

Pluses

  • Understanding IT security and data privacy

  • Experience with agile, scrum, JIRA / Atlassian Tools

  • Experience with software and hardware development processes.

  • Experience with proximity badge technologies.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily sedentary physical work requiring ability to lift a maximum of 25 pounds.

  • Occasional lifting, carrying (e.g., laptop and notebook, box with a clock, …)

  • Frequent walking and standing, hand/eye coordination to operate computer keyboard/office equipment

  • Vision for reading, recording and interpreting information

  • Speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with colleagues and management.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $133,000.00 per year
