Job description

Overview

The Network & Security Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and support of enterprise networking, security and cloud connectivity solutions for customers across Europe and the EMEA region. The role supports the full lifecycle of customer projects, including solution design, deployment, optimisation, troubleshooting and ongoing technical support.

The position contributes to the delivery of secure and reliable network infrastructure, including technologies such as enterprise networking, cyber security, cloud connectivity, SD-WAN, SASE and wireless networking. The role also involves working closely with customers, vendors and internal teams to ensure that solutions meet technical, operational and business requirements while maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and support enterprise network, security and cloud connectivity solutions.

  • Participate in solution architecture, technical design workshops and customer consultations.

  • Deliver LAN, Wireless, Cloud and Security projects from scoping through deployment.

  • Produce high-quality technical documentation including HLDs, LLDs, operational procedures and test plans.

  • Perform proof-of-concept testing and technical evaluations of new technologies.

  • Troubleshoot complex network, security and cloud-related incidents.

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support for managed customer environments.

  • Support the deployment and optimisation of SASE and SD-WAN solutions.

  • Work closely with vendors, partners and internal stakeholders to deliver customer solutions.

  • Identify opportunities for service improvements, automation and standardisation.

  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and industry best practices.

  • Share technical knowledge and mentor colleagues where appropriate.

  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, service improvements and other business priorities as required by management.

  • Participate in an on-call support rota as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in supporting and deploying enterprise networking solutions.

  • Strong understanding of: Routing, Switching and Security, TCP/IP, VLANs, EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, NAT, VPN Technologies.

  • Experience with one or more of: Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Juniper, Fortinet products and solutions.

  • Experience troubleshooting LAN and Internet connectivity issues.

  • Strong customer-facing and communication skills.

  • Ability to create clear technical documentation and solution designs.

  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Passion for continuous technical learning and professional growth.

  • Full professional proficiency in English.
