Position Description:
Seneca Resources is seeking a
Cybersecurity Programmer / Security Automation Engineer
to support a Cybersecurity Technology Services team focused on security automation, configuration management, API integrations, and cloud security.
This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys developing automation and security tooling across
Microsoft Defender, Palo Alto Networks Security Configuration Management (SCM), Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
.
The successful candidate will help strengthen enterprise security by automating security operations, integrating security platforms, improving configuration compliance, building data pipelines, and supporting incident response capabilities across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Develop and maintain
Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Go
automation scripts and applications supporting cybersecurity operations, configuration management, and policy enforcement.

Build and maintain integrations using
REST APIs
and security platform APIs, including
Microsoft Defender XDR, Palo Alto Networks Panorama/SCM
, and cloud-native security services.
-
Integrate security data from
Azure, AWS, and GCP
into enterprise security platforms, dashboards, and operational tools.
-
Build and maintain data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, normalizing, and routing security logs into
SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel and Splunk
.

Automate security remediation workflows and support
SOAR
integrations to improve incident response and operational efficiency.

Partner with cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, and engineering teams to implement secure configurations and monitor security compliance.

Monitor security platform health, performance, configuration drift, and policy compliance across cloud and on-premises environments.

Support
cloud security, IAM, network segmentation, and security configuration management
initiatives.

Contribute to
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
and DevSecOps automation using tools such as
Terraform and GitHub
.

Develop clear technical documentation covering code, integrations, configurations, workflows, and operational procedures.

Support audit readiness and continuous improvement of enterprise security controls and automation processes.
Required Skills/Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology
, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.

1–5 years of experience
in programming, cybersecurity engineering, security automation, or a related technical discipline.

Proficiency with one or more scripting/programming languages, including
Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Go
.

Hands-on experience working with
Microsoft Defender APIs
,
Palo Alto Networks Panorama/SCM APIs
, or comparable cybersecurity APIs.

Experience integrating
cloud security APIs and services
across Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Strong understanding of
cloud security principles, Identity and Access Management (IAM), network segmentation, security configuration management, and compliance
.

Experience with
SIEM and/or SOAR platforms
, preferably Microsoft Sentinel or Splunk.

Familiarity with
Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform, GitHub, APIs, automation, and DevSecOps practices
.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Security certifications such as
Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, PCNSE, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or CISSP
.

Experience supporting
hybrid cloud and multi-cloud security architectures
.

Knowledge of
MITRE ATT&CK, CIS Benchmarks, NIST frameworks
, and security configuration standards.

Experience integrating security controls into
CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines
.

Experience with automated security remediation, configuration drift detection, and security policy enforcement.

Familiarity with endpoint, network, cloud, and application security technologies.
