Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to work in Northern Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for an NP with strong acute care experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment and managing a wide range of emergency and urgent care presentations.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department.

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.

• Develop and implement appropriate treatment and care plans.

• Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other investigations.

• Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice.

• Perform procedures appropriate to the Emergency Department setting.

• Recognize and manage patients with acute and complex medical conditions.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated patient care.

• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment, medications, and follow-up care.

• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using electronic health records.

• Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, and applicable regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Current and valid license

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a hospital setting.

• Emergency experience is strongly preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Current BLS and ACLS certification preferred.
