2662939 Ontario Inc/Denys Medicine Professional Corporation is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive respiratory services to a diverse population of clients in the Windsor/Essex County/Municipality of Chatham Kent region through two office locations in Tecumseh, Ontario and Lasalle, Ontario. 2662939 Ontario Inc. has two licences from the Integrated Community Health Services Center (ICHSC) which permits us to perform comprehensive respiratory testing on our patients. Our pulmonary function testing services include spirometry, lung volume measurements, airways resistance measurements and DLCO/KCO measurements. In addition to the comprehensive respiratory testing, our clinical also performs FeNO testing and allergy skin testing and can provide CRE services.

Core Responsibilities:

The primary focus of the nurse practitioner will be to conduct consultations and follow-up assessments on clients with various respiratory disorders such as asthma and COPD and also upper airways disorders such as allergic rhinitis and chronic rhinosinusitis. The nurse practitioner will:

Perform assessments, diagnosis and treatment, health education/counselling, and other clinical activities according to the College of Nurses of Ontario standards of practice for Registered Nurses in the Extended Class.
Work independently but in collaboration with multidisciplinary team including the respiratory medicine practitioner, the healthcare team and using the electronic health record system (Accuro) for documentation and care coordination.
Responsible for appropriate chart documentation, consultation reports, follow-up reports, ordering appropriate investigations, and ordering appropriate medication or other therapy as required.
Provide patient education on health maintenance, disease prevention, and medication adherence.
Assist in interpretation of pulmonary function testing, allergy skin testing, lab investigations and imaging investigations to inform clinical decisions.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
Some experience in dealing with respiratory health and/or allergic-related disorders would be an asset.
Attention to client centered care and establishing therapeutic relationships required.
Proficiency with electronic health record system (Accuro) is advantageous.
Ability to work in an interprofessional team environment required.
Strong communication and excellent interpersonal skills combined with good analytical problem-solving, organizational, and administrative skills.

Educational and Training Requirements:

Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in Nursing.
Member in good standing in the Extended Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
