Job description
Job Title: OPD Nurse (Outpatient Department)
Location: Doha, Qatar
Department: Outpatient Services / OPD Clinic
Reports to: Nurse In-Charge / Clinic Manager / Head Nurse
Job Purpose
To provide safe, efficient, and patient-centered nursing care to patients visiting the outpatient department, supporting physicians during consultations, procedures, and ensuring smooth patient flow.
Key Responsibilities

Greet, register, and prepare patients for consultation (vitals, history-taking, triage)

Assist physicians during examinations, minor procedures, and dressings

Administer medications, injections, vaccinations as prescribed

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

Educate patients on medication use, follow-up care, and health promotion

Coordinate patient referrals, lab tests, and diagnostic imaging appointments

Ensure infection control protocols and sterilization standards are maintained

Manage clinic inventory (medications, consumables, equipment)

Handle emergencies within OPD until higher-level care is available

Maintain confidentiality per Qatar MOPH data protection standards
Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Valid QCHP license
-
BLS/ACLS certification (often mandatory)

Minimum 1โ3 years OPD/clinical experience
Skills Required

Strong clinical assessment and communication skills

Proficiency in English (Arabic is a plus)

EMR/HIS software familiarity

Multitasking in high-patient-volume settings

Cultural sensitivity for a diverse patient population
Salary & Benefits (Typical Range in Qatar)
