Job description
Job Purpose:
Responsible for the execution, supervision, and quality control of all Outside Plant (OSP) activities including fiber optic cable installation, ducting, trenching, manhole and cabinet installation, and as-built documentation in compliance with Qatar Telecom (Ooredoo/QNBN) standards and project specifications.
Job Summary:

Supervise day-to-day OSP works including trenching, duct laying, sub-ducting, cable pulling, splicing, jointing, and termination.

Ensuring implementation as per Ooredoo/QNBN standard drawings.

Review approved shop drawings and issue clarifications to site teams.

Verify installation and material compliance with approved specifications and method statements.

Conduct and witness OTDR & power meter testing for fiber links.

Ensure all OSP materials (cables, closures, ducts, handholes) are approved and handled as per manufacturer’s guidelines.

Liaise with Ooredoo / QNBN inspectors, consultants, and clients for daily inspections, NOCs, and approvals.

Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams to resolve technical or access issues.

Attend weekly progress and coordination meetings with the client and main contractor.

Ensure all Excavation Permits, Road Opening Permits (Ashghal / MOI/Lusail/Katara) are obtained and valid before work starts.

Follow Qatar Construction Standards (QCS) and Ooredoo Civil & Fiber Implementation Guidelines.
Preferred:
-
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.

3–8 years of experience in OSP / Fiber Optic network projects, preferably in Qatar.

Strong knowledge of Ooredoo / QNBN standards, trenching layouts, and duct/cable management.

Familiar with AutoCAD, MS Office, OTDR testing tools, and GIS systems.

Valid Qatar Driving License preferred.
