Job description

About the Opportunity

Eagle Leather is an established motorcycle gear retailer with both a brick-and-mortar store in Lakewood and a growing e-commerce business.

We are looking for a hands-on E-Commerce & AI Marketing Manager whose primary responsibility is simple:

Help us measurably increase sales and profitability—both online and in our physical store.

This is not a position for someone who only wants to create social media posts or manage a content calendar.

We want someone who understands customer acquisition, e-commerce, paid advertising, SEO, conversion optimization, email marketing, analytics, and modern AI tools, and knows how to connect those disciplines to produce measurable business results.

You will work directly with the owner and have significant freedom to test ideas, improve our marketing, and identify opportunities we may be missing.

What You’ll Work On

You will help develop and execute Eagle Leather’s overall marketing strategy, including:

  • Google Ads, Google Shopping and paid search

  • Shopify merchandising and conversion optimization

  • SEO and organic search growth

  • Local marketing designed to bring customers into our Lakewood store

  • Email and SMS marketing, including Klaviyo

  • Landing pages and promotional campaigns

  • Google Business Profile and local search

  • Meta/Facebook/Instagram advertising

  • Product launches and promotions

  • Customer retention and repeat-purchase strategies

  • Website conversion rate and average order value

  • Marketing analytics and attribution

  • In-store promotions and events

  • AI-assisted marketing, research, content and automation

You should be comfortable looking at numbers and answering questions such as:

What did we spend? What sales did it generate? What did we learn? What should we do next?

AI Skills Matter

We actively use AI and believe it can dramatically increase the productivity of a strong marketer.

We are particularly interested in candidates who use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Canva AI, or other AI platforms as part of their normal workflow.

We are not looking for someone who simply uses ChatGPT to rewrite an email or social media caption.

We want someone who knows how to use AI for things such as:

  • Market and competitor research

  • SEO and keyword research

  • Advertising strategy

  • Google Ads development and optimization

  • Product merchandising

  • Landing-page development

  • Customer analysis

  • Content creation

  • Data analysis

  • Marketing automation

  • Testing new ideas quickly

  • Improving personal productivity

If you have developed your own AI workflows, agents, automations, custom GPTs, or other systems that make you significantly more productive, we would especially like to hear about them.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has practical experience with several of the following:

  • Shopify or another major e-commerce platform

  • Google Ads

  • Google Merchant Center / Shopping

  • Google Analytics / GA4

  • Google Search Console

  • SEO

  • Klaviyo or similar email/SMS platforms

  • Meta advertising

  • Conversion rate optimization

  • E-commerce merchandising

  • Local business marketing

  • AI marketing tools

You do not need to know every platform listed above.

More important is your ability to learn quickly, use modern tools effectively, analyze results, and take ownership of improving performance.

How We Measure Success

We care more about results than activity.

Success may include:

  • Increased online revenue

  • Increased qualified traffic to our physical store

  • Higher website conversion rates

  • Improved ROAS on advertising

  • Lower customer acquisition costs

  • Higher average order value

  • Increased repeat purchases

  • Better organic search visibility

  • Successful product launches

  • Identification of profitable marketing opportunities we are currently missing

We want someone who becomes excited when they discover an opportunity, test it, measure it and improve it.

Work Schedule

This position will initially be approximately 20–25 hours per week.

Because understanding our products, customers and retail operation is important, we want the person to spend meaningful time working from our Lakewood, Washington store.

Some work may eventually be performed remotely once you understand the business and have demonstrated your ability to work independently.

For the right person, this position has the potential to grow in responsibility, hours and compensation.

Compensation

$30–$40 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated capabilities.

We are open to candidates at different stages of their careers. A long resume is less important to us than intelligence, curiosity, initiative, technological ability and demonstrated results.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume and, if available, examples of marketing work, campaigns, websites, e-commerce projects or measurable results you have produced.

Please also answer these three questions:

1. How do you currently use ChatGPT or other AI tools in your marketing work?

Please give us specific examples rather than simply listing the AI platforms you use.

2. Tell us about one marketing campaign, website improvement or project where you produced a measurable business result.

What did you change, and what happened?

3. If you joined Eagle Leather and your goal was to increase sales during your first 90 days, what are the first three areas you would investigate and why?

We are looking for someone who wants more than a part-time marketing job.

We want someone who wants the opportunity to build, experiment, measure results and make a meaningful impact on a growing retail and e-commerce business.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week

Benefits:

  • Employee discount

  • Paid time off

Work Location: In person
