Position Overview:
The Plant Cost Accountant is expected to conduct a variety of all financial activities and tasks for (an) assigned plant(s) and related warehouses. The role will provide the Operations and Finance teams of the plant with daily and weekly operations, cost, and other reports.
The qualified individual should have previous experience of working in a finance or accounting department in a business environment, and should understand and proficient in producing reports and analyzing data. The individual should have superior reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to clearly report on financial and operational results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and distribute weekly operations reports and recaps for the Operations and Finance management teams.
• Conduct Daily Yield and Labor Analysis meetings with the plant Operations team.
• Set up and maintain new finished goods items for plants, ensuring that costs for raw materials are updated.
• Provide the Sales team with finished goods cost analysis on new items and changes to existing items, using the appropriate structure for the designated plant.
• Implement year-end standard changes in the relevant software system pertaining to formula changes, labor and overhead adjustments, and raw material cost changes.
• Provide assistance as required with a range of accounting tasks.
• Develop solid working relationships with coworkers and support all other stakeholders as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
• Preferred Experience: Five or more years of financial experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience of using ERP systems.
Competencies and Skills:
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Proficiency in creating financial reports and conducting analysis.
• Strong computer skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to use an ERP system.
• Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, and an ability to interact well with a diverse population.
• Strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well across all levels of the organization.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
• Ability to move about the facility on a regular basis to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting items of up to 20 lbs. unassisted, bending, standing, climbing or walking.
• Visual and hearing acuity.
