About the role

We are looking for a talented a

Power BI Developer

to join our dynamic team in Sydney City. In this role, you will work alongside the Reporting Stream Lead, building the Power BI reports that emerge from the design process and undertaking the modelling and testing work beneath them.

This is a hands-on build role. You will write DAX, develop semantic models, lay out report pages, and verify that the figures are correct before they are presented.

You will also attend requirements workshops.

Contract

This role as a Power BI Developer is a 3-month contract with a daily rate.

We are looking for someone who can start the role from next week (9/09/2026).

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Write and document measures

    with clear business definitions captured in a central register

  • Convert approved designs into polished reports

    using themed Power BI pages and native visuals

  • Publish with confidence

    after reconciling every figure against its source

  • Maintain and establish what data does not yet

    exist and recording which report page each gap blocks.

  • Turn workshop outcomes into action

    by capturing notes and actions against clear owners and convert them into the change list for the next build.

About you:

  • Bachelor degree in computer science, or other relevant disciplines (or equivalent)

  • Skilled in Power Query shaping, with an understanding of SCD2 risks and when transformations belong upstream in SQL

  • Confident in SQL joins, aggregation and window functions, with Snowflake and star schema modelling experience

  • Strong communicative skills between stakeholders internally and externally

  • 4+ years of Power BI experience building reports others use, with DAX debugging skills and sound measure-versus-column judgement

  • Microsoft Certifications (e.g. DP-500, Fabric Analytics Engineer DP-600) are a plus

  • Australian Working Rights and availability during Australian Business Hours
