Power BI Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.

• Build efficient data models using star schema design, relationships, and advanced DAX measures.

• Develop and optimise ETL processes using Power Query (M) and integrate data from multiple sources.

• Optimise report performance, datasets, refresh schedules, and data connectivity.

• Manage Power BI Service workspaces, publishing, and report maintenance.

• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and follow appropriate workspace governance practices.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define KPIs, understand reporting requirements, and deliver meaningful insights.

• Apply data visualisation best practices to create clear, user-friendly dashboards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing solutions using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

• Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and SQL.

• Experience with data modelling, star schema design, and data warehousing concepts.

• Strong understanding of dashboard performance optimisation and data visualisation principles.

• Ability to translate business requirements into effective reporting solutions.

• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with business and client stakeholders.

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and cloud-based analytics platforms.

• Familiarity with Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, or ALM Toolkit.

• Knowledge of Git integration, version control, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.

• Experience with composite models, calculation groups, and incremental refresh.

• Microsoft certifications such as PL-300 or DP-600.
