Practice Nurse

About the role

YourChoice Medical Care is seeking a dedicated Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team in Rouse Hill, NSW. This is a part-time position (Tuesdays and Thursdays) offering flexibility whilst delivering high-quality nursing care to our patients. Additional shifts available and encouraged. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting our medical practitioners and ensuring exceptional patient care across a range of general medical and surgical services. Your expertise and compassionate approach will be integral to maintaining the excellent standards our patients expect from YourChoice Medical Care.

Key responsibilities

• Providing direct patient care including wound dressing, blood pressure monitoring, and other clinical procedures as required

• Assisting doctors during consultations and minor surgical procedures

• Administering medications and immunisations in accordance with clinical protocols and patient requirements

• Recording and maintaining accurate patient medical records and clinical documentation

• Supporting preventive health initiatives including health screening and patient education

• Triaging patients and assessing their clinical needs upon arrival

• Maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe clinical environment in accordance with infection control standards

• Communicating effectively with patients and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care delivery

• Managing clinical equipment and ensuring supplies are appropriately stocked

What we're looking for

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as Registered Nurse (RN)

• Demonstrated experience working in a general practice or primary care setting

• Proficiency in clinical procedures commonly performed in general medical practice

• Strong knowledge of infection prevention and control practices

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients and multidisciplinary teams

• Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

• Proficiency with clinical software systems (Bp) and electronic health records

• Preferred: Experience with chronic disease management and health promotion programmes
