TITLE: Pre-Sales Engineer (Electrical Engineer - Data Center Systems)

LOCATION: Ashburn, VA

POSITION SUMMARY**:** The Pre Sales Electrical Engineer - Data Center Electrical Engineer Systems leads technical design, sales support, and project execution for mission-critical infrastructure projects. This role requires experience in power systems, UPS equipment, and mission-critical electrical solutions, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. The position combines technical proficiency, project management expertise, and client-facing engagement to support seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.

  • Provide expert-level technical guidance for the design and implementation of critical power distribution systems and supporting electrical systems to include UPS solutions and backup power infrastructure.

  • Work closely with internal sales and engineering teams to develop tailored solutions for prospective and existing clients.

  • Lead early-stage qualification, specification, and logistics planning for data center projects.

  • Create and support the estimating efforts by reviewing project specifications and coordinating with procurement teams.

  • Develop comprehensive system configurations and integration plans to support optimal performance and reliability.

  • Serve as a key liaison between clients and internal stakeholders, communicating complex technical concepts to audiences ranging from operations teams to executive leadership.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for cross-departmental collaboration to enhance service offerings and support business growth.

  • 10+ years of experience in mission-critical infrastructure, electrical design, and power quality systems.

  • Extensive expertise in UPS system design, specification, and deployment.

  • Strong understanding of data center facility operations and electrical distribution.

  • Strong understanding Bonding, Grounding, Lightening Protection, and surge Suppression

  • Advanced technical writing skills for documentation, proposals, and project specifications.

  • Proven ability to lead projects from concept through execution, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.

  • Comfortable communicating at all organizational levels, from field operations to C-suite executives.

  • Experience with Eaton, Schneider Electric, and other leading power system providers preferred.

  • Prior experience managing large enterprise accounts within the data center industry preferred.

  • Familiarity with commissioning procedures for mission-critical facilities preferred.

  • Familiarity with the five electrical class ratings. Classes, F0 โ€“ F4 regarding redundancy, Capacity, Expandability, Maintainability, Survivability, and Quality.

Education/Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in mission-critical infrastructure, electrical design, and power quality systems.

Computer Skills:

  • Advanced technical writing skills for documentation, proposals, and project specifications.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Master Electrician License preferred.

  • Experience with Eaton, Schneider Electric, and other leading power system providers preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from concept through execution, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.

  • Coordinate with internal teams, external stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, procurement teams, and project leadership.
