This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Cloud Solutions Architect - Presales - Hyperscaler based in the United States.
This senior, customer-facing role will help shape and accelerate the adoption of first-party cloud storage services within leading hyperscaler environments.
You will combine deep cloud architecture expertise with technical presales leadership to identify strategic workloads and design innovative solutions.
Working closely with enterprise customers and hyperscaler sales and technical teams, you will guide organizations through modernization, migration, AI, analytics, and data initiatives.
You will lead technical validations, proof-of-concepts, workshops, architecture reviews, and executive engagements throughout complex sales cycles.
The role also provides an opportunity to influence product direction, develop reusable technical assets, and strengthen field readiness across a growing cloud business.
You will collaborate across Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Professional Services, and Customer Success in a fast-moving environment centered on innovation and customer outcomes.

Accountabilities

Qualify customer opportunities and identify strategic enterprise workloads that are strong candidates for adoption within hyperscaler cloud environments.

Design comprehensive, end-to-end cloud architectures leveraging first-party cloud storage services and complementary cloud capabilities.

Serve as a trusted technical advisor to strategic customers, helping them navigate cloud modernization, migration, AI, analytics, enterprise applications, and data platform initiatives.

Deliver compelling technical presentations, architecture workshops, demonstrations, technical reviews, and executive briefings to a range of customer stakeholders.

Lead technical validation engagements, proof-of-concept activities, and other initiatives designed to demonstrate solution value and accelerate customer adoption.

Collaborate closely with hyperscaler sales and technical teams to develop opportunities, expand workloads, and drive customer adoption.

Create reusable architectures, best practices, technical documentation, enablement materials, and other assets that can accelerate field execution.

Provide actionable feedback to Product Management and Engineering based on customer requirements, technical challenges, and real-world implementation experience.

Partner with Professional Services and Customer Success teams to support successful onboarding, production readiness, customer adoption, and account expansion.

Maintain accurate opportunity information, technical milestones, risks, next steps, and forecasting inputs within Salesforce.

Mentor other Cloud Solutions Architects and contribute to technical communities, advisory groups, enablement initiatives, and knowledge-sharing programs.

Continuously monitor developments across hyperscaler services, public cloud architecture, enterprise workloads, and the broader technology landscape.

Maintain advanced technical expertise and relevant certifications while developing new processes, techniques, and technical resources for internal and partner-facing teams.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

12+ years of relevant industry experience, including substantial experience in enterprise technology and cloud environments.

8+ years of experience in a customer-facing Solutions Architect, Cloud Architect, Technical Sales, Presales, or comparable technical role.

At least 5 years of experience working with major hyperscaler infrastructure providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Deep expertise in hyperscaler cloud architecture, with the ability to rapidly develop proficiency in new first-party cloud storage services and technologies.

Professional-level hyperscaler architecture certification is preferred or expected within an agreed onboarding period.

Advanced hyperscaler architecture certifications are strongly preferred.

Additional certifications or expertise in networking, security, DevOps, FinOps, databases, AI, or related technical disciplines are advantageous.

Experience with enterprise cloud migrations, modernization programs, production workload adoption, and large-scale data environments.

NetApp ONTAP and broader enterprise data management experience is preferred.

Proven experience working directly with strategic enterprise customers and senior or executive stakeholders.

Strong technical communication, presentation, workshop facilitation, and consultative selling skills.

Ability to translate complex cloud architectures and technical concepts into clear business value for both technical and executive audiences.

Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across sales, engineering, product, professional services, customer success, and hyperscaler partner teams.

Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, manage complex engagements, and mentor other technical professionals.

Candidates located in the Eastern or Central time zones are preferred.

Ability to work remotely while maintaining effective collaboration with customers and distributed partner teams.

Target on-target earnings range of $223,550–$289,300 USD , with final compensation determined by location, qualifications, experience, education, and other relevant factors.
