Role Description

This part-time Principal Data Scientist role at Cercle RH is a hybrid position based in Abu Dhabi, with flexibility for partial work from home. The Principal Data Scientist will lead end-to-end data initiatives, including problem framing, data collection, data cleaning, and model development to support strategic decision-making. Daily responsibilities include designing experimental methodologies, building predictive and descriptive models, performing advanced analytics, and developing clear visualizations and reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions, mentoring junior data professionals, and establishing best practices for data governance and model performance. The Principal Data Scientist will also evaluate new tools and techniques, support project roadmaps, and contribute to long-term analytics strategy.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Data Science and Statistics, with experience applying statistical methods to complex business problems.

  • Proficiency in Data Analytics and Data Analysis, including exploratory analysis, feature engineering, and performance measurement.

  • Ability to create effective Data Visualization outputs that clearly communicate insights to diverse stakeholders.

  • Hands-on experience with programming languages and tools commonly used in data science (e.g., Python or R, SQL, notebooks, and relevant libraries).

  • Background in machine learning model development, validation, deployment, and monitoring in production or semi-production environments.

  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in accessible terms.

  • Track record of collaborating with business, product, and technology teams and providing leadership or mentorship to data professionals.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.

  • Experience working in hybrid environments and managing time across onsite and remote work settings.
