Job Title:
Principal Engineer – Electrical Engineering (Power) x 3
Location:
Barrow-in-Furness or Filton (Hybrid)
Duration :
12 months
Rate :
£80 - £85 per hour (Inside IR35)
What You Will Be Doing :
Working within the Electrical Engineering Power Team on next-generation submarine programmes (such as the UK's next-gen SSN design), your responsibilities include:

Developing design solutions meeting time, cost, and quality targets.

Producing documentation such as diagrams, technical specifications, and supporting calculations for design reviews. For complete phrasing details regarding design evidence and justifications, you can check the referenced listings.

Providing technical support for supplier and customer system acceptance as well as build and defect resolution activities.
Essential Skills & Requirements:

Qualifications:
BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent, alongside Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or the ability to meet CEng requirements.

Experience & Technical Focus:
Demonstrable engineering lifecycle experience with a strong foundation in AC/DC power systems, power architectures, generation, distribution, and monitoring.

Specialised Knowledge:
Proficiency in areas such as power system modelling, generators, switchgear, protection, or power electronics
