Role Description

The Principal Product Manager role at Industrial Robot News is a part-time, remote position responsible for defining and driving the platform’s product vision and roadmap. On a day-to-day basis, this role conducts market and user research, analyzes audience behavior, and translates insights into prioritized product initiatives for content, features, and user experience. The Principal Product Manager collaborates with editorial, marketing, and technical contributors to plan releases, refine requirements, and ensure cohesive execution across digital channels. This role also monitors performance metrics, iterates on existing products, and identifies new opportunities to expand engagement and reach across the robotics news ecosystem. The position requires strong ownership of strategy as well as hands-on involvement in product discovery, delivery, and continual optimization.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in product management, including defining product strategy, creating roadmaps, and managing product lifecycles for digital or media products.

  • Experience with user and market research, data analysis, and translating insights into clear product requirements and measurable outcomes.

  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams such as editorial, marketing, design, and engineering, with the ability to align stakeholders around priorities.

  • Proficiency in agile or lean product development practices, including backlog management, iterative testing, and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present product plans and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Background or strong interest in robotics, industrial automation, or technology media is highly beneficial.

  • Prior experience in a leadership or principal-level product role, ideally within content platforms, online communities, or SaaS products.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent practical experience is also considered.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage part-time hours effectively, and balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
