Palomba General Trading LLC is looking for a

Process Automation & Controls Engineer – Mixing, Dosing & Powder Systems

to support technically advanced industrial process-equipment projects across the GCC.

This is a highly technical engineering position. It is not a general sales or business development role.

We are specifically looking for candidates with practical technical knowledge of industrial automation, PLC/HMI systems, instrumentation, process control and the integration of mixing, dosing, weighing, powder-handling and related process equipment.

The successful candidate will work at the interface between industrial customers, process engineers, automation specialists and international equipment manufacturers, helping define and coordinate technically appropriate automation concepts for food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and specialty ingredient production.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬

• Analyse customer production processes and automation requirements.

• Support automation concepts for industrial mixers, blenders, homogenisers, mills, dosing systems and powder-handling equipment.

• Define functional requirements for PLC and HMI systems.

• Review process sequences, interlocks, alarms and control logic.

• Support batch and recipe-management requirements.

• Evaluate weighing and dosing requirements using load cells, feeders and related instrumentation.

• Review instrumentation requirements including pressure, temperature, level, flow and weighing systems.

• Support integration of new process equipment into existing production lines.

• Coordinate technical interfaces between mechanical equipment, electrical systems and process automation.

• Review customer requirements for motors, variable-frequency drives, valves, actuators and sensors.

• Assist in defining I/O requirements and automation architecture.

• Support preparation and review of technical specifications, functional descriptions and automation documentation.

• Coordinate technical clarifications with OEM automation and engineering departments.

• Participate in technical discussions concerning data acquisition, process monitoring and production traceability.

• Support FAT and SAT preparation where applicable.

• Assist with commissioning planning and technical troubleshooting.

• Support optimisation of automated mixing, dosing and powder-processing operations.

𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞

We are looking for a

strongly technical candidate

who is comfortable discussing an industrial process in engineering terms.

The ideal candidate should be able to understand how a production process actually works, identify the required measurements and control points, and communicate those requirements effectively to automation and equipment manufacturers.

Candidates whose experience is predominantly general sales, administration or non-technical business development are unlikely to be suitable for this position.

𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬

Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, Process Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.

Practical understanding of industrial automation and process-control systems.

Knowledge of PLC and HMI architecture.

Understanding of industrial instrumentation.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, process descriptions and equipment specifications.

Knowledge of sensors, motors, drives, valves, weighing systems and industrial controls.

Experience with industrial machinery or production environments is strongly preferred.

Excellent written and spoken English.

Experience with one or more of the following sectors will be considered particularly relevant:

Experience with

Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric or equivalent industrial automation platforms

is an advantage.

Experience with mixing, dosing, weighing or powder-handling systems is particularly valuable.
