Product Line Manager
Savant Group
Job description
We’re hiring a Product Line Manager to own the commercial direction and market success of assigned product lines at Tannas Company. This role is remote in the United States with Texas being highly preferred.
This is not a behind-the-scenes product management role. We’re looking for someone who wants to be in the market—meeting with customers, developing opportunities, understanding applications, evaluating competitors, supporting Sales, working with distributors, and helping determine where our products need to go next.
The Product Line Manager serves as the subject matter expert and commercial owner for their product lines, with responsibility for revenue growth, profitability, pricing, market development, product positioning, and long-term success. You’ll work closely with customers, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and other teams to turn market needs into real business opportunities.
Who We Are
The Savant Group isn’t a just one company—it’s a group of specialized businesses that solve complex, technical problems for customers around the world. Headquartered in Midland, Michigan, our companies—Savant Labs, Tannas Company, King Analytics, and the Center for Quality Assurance—build and support precision equipment and testing services used across lubrication, transportation, manufacturing, and energy industries.
What matters more than what we do is how we do it.
What You’ll Own
You’ll serve as the subject matter expert and commercial owner for assigned product lines, with responsibility for their overall performance, positioning, growth, and long-term market success. You’ll own product-line revenue, margin, pricing, profitability, market development, and business strategy while building strong relationships with customers, distributors, and channel partners.
You’ll stay closely connected to customer applications, competitive activity, industry trends, and emerging market needs, using that insight to identify opportunities, shape product direction, support new product development, and strengthen go-to-market execution. You’ll also partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Quality to move opportunities and product priorities forward, remove barriers, and ensure the business is aligned around the needs of the market and the customer.
What You'll Do
-
Drive revenue, margin, pricing, product mix, market share, and profitability
-
Build strong relationships with customers, distributors, channel partners, and prospects
-
Identify and develop new customer, sales, market, and business opportunities
-
Serve as the product subject matter expert (SME) for Sales and customers
-
Conduct customer visits, provide product demonstrations, have technical discussions, and find commercial opportunities
-
Develop product strategies, business plans, pricing strategies, positioning, and go-to-market plans
-
Monitor competitors, industry trends, customer needs, and market activity
-
Manage and develop distributor and channel-partner relationships
-
Translate customer and market needs into product requirements and development priorities
-
Support new product development, product launches, improvements, and lifecycle decisions
-
Track product-line performance and using data to identify risks, opportunities, and necessary actions
-
Represent Tannas at customer meetings, trade shows, conferences, demonstrations, and other industry events
-
Drive execution across Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Quality
What You'll Bring
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Product Management, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered.
-
Minimum of five years of progressive experience in product management, technical sales, commercial strategy, product marketing, engineering, or a related customer-facing technical role.
-
Demonstrated experience owning or materially influencing product-line revenue, profitability, pricing, market development, or commercial performance.
-
Experience developing and executing product strategies, business cases, pricing strategies, go-to-market plans, and product launches.
-
Experience conducting market research, competitive analysis, Voice of Customer activities, and translating market needs into product or commercial requirements.
-
Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and other business functions.
-
Experience managing distributors, channel partners, or indirect sales channels preferred.
-
Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, instrumentation, or other technical B2B environment strongly preferred.
-
Experience with CRM, ERP, or other commercial/business systems preferred.
-
Familiarity with ASTM standards, laboratory testing, or related technical industries preferred.
-
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time both domestic and international.
