As a Product Manager at Landis+Gyr, you will be responsible to lead the Life cycle of assigned products. Including lifecycle activities such as authoring Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), prioritization of sustainment activities, manage Investment Plan (IPL) and New Product Introduction (NPI) process for assigned products. This individual will work closely with our clients and must demonstrate distinct functional and professional knowledge to ensure that the work products and deliverables are of the highest caliber to guarantee customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Lead the complete product lifecycle of the assigned products.

  • Contributes to Landis+Gyr’s New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Interprets customer requirements and translates to clear product requirements and use cases in PRDs.

  • Supports R&D feasibility/traceability reviews.

  • Works on complex business cases.

  • Works with Technical Training to develop Product Documentation and Training.

  • Works in partnership with Project Management Organization (PMO) to manage cost and timeline expectations.

  • Presents to Executive Project Governance Boards for stage gate reviews and Change Controls.

  • Works on assigned product dependencies and interrelationships to deliver a complete customer solution (hardware/software) rather than just a “Product.”

  • Independently manages strategic partnerships where appropriate.

  • Understands market research for addressing market and/or business needs for a product, including awareness of market trends and direction.

  • Assists Subject Matter Expert for assigned products.

  • Develops customer communications (e.g., Customer Information Letters, Product Updates, Release Notes).

  • Ensures all parts of the organization are properly educated on product feature/functionality.

  • Contributes to business reviews and planning sessions.

  • Supports Landis+Gyr’s quality processes.

  • May presents at industry events, internal sales meetings, Landis+Gyr’s Exchange, and customer specific meetings.

  • Assists with the management of sustainment of existing product offerings.

  • Close working collaboration with Product Portfolio, Engineering, Deployment, Sales and Marketing, and Global teams.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 2 - 5 years of related experience.

  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Technical role experience related to the Product Segment being led.

  • Formal Product Management training, such as Pragmatic Marketing, and/or New Product Introduction (NPI) process desired.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of business fundamentals – roles of various departments in the organization: marketing, sales, economics, manufacturing, business management, engineering.

  • Proven critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Deep understanding of marketing concepts/market research.

  • Proven ability to facilitate groups and/or teams.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including experience in public speaking.

  • Organizational skills including prioritization, project management and resource deployment.

  • Superior computer skills including Microsoft Office applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.

  • Ability to influence individuals and organizations not under a direct reporting relationship.

  • Proven leadership skills in mentoring and developing others.

  • Work alongside cross functional teams to develop and execute the overall strategy for assigned products.

Working Conditions:

  • Typical indoor office environment with the majority of time spent sitting and working on a computer using keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Occasional use of other devices such as: phone, copier/printer/fax, etc.

  • Driving Status: Driving required during travel

  • Travel requirement of up to 40%

  • Physical Requirements: Typical office setting. Required to stand; walk; crouch; or handle objects. Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Ability to sit and view computer screen for long periods of time. The ability to see, hear, & speak in English.   • Personal Protection Equipment/Other OHSA Safety Requirements: Ensure the continued efforts and assist in achieving annual goals of health, safety, and environmental policies. Must be current with available OSHA/Safety Training provided by the Company. If required, must be able to work while wearing safety equipment such as hard hats, work boats, gloves, hearing protection, and others.

Pay is in the range of

$100,600 - $127,225

per year.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.  All candidates are encouraged to apply.
