Product Manager, Platform & Payments
JV Recruiter
Job description
About the Role
We are looking for a Product Manager to own the payments and commerce layer of a fast-growing vertical SaaS / marketplace platform. This person will define how money flows among consumers, operators, and the platform, while helping to scale the product for larger, multi-location, and enterprise customers.
This is not a generic checkout role. Payments are central to the product and business model. The Product Manager will own the roadmap for platform payments, billing, settlement, fees, reconciliation, and payment infrastructure, while working closely with Engineering, Design, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and other product teams.
What You’ll Own
-
End-to-end product strategy for payments and commerce infrastructure.
-
Platform payment architecture, fee structures, settlement workflows, installment and deposit billing, accounting integrations, and compliance.
-
Connected accounts, charge models, payout configuration, platform fees, dispute policies, and stored credential requirements.
-
Payment-related features across operator-facing and consumer-facing experiences.
-
Go-to-market support, activation, adoption, and customer feedback in partnership with Sales and Customer Success.
-
Automation opportunities across reconciliation, anomaly detection, fee calculation, and financial reporting.
-
Success metrics, product performance, and roadmap iteration based on business and customer outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
-
5–8 years of Product Management experience.
-
Deep experience owning payments in a platform, marketplace, vertical SaaS, or embedded payments environment.
-
Hands-on experience with Stripe Connect or a similar platform payments system.
-
Strong understanding of connected accounts, direct charges, destination charges, separate charges and transfers, platform fees, payouts, settlement, disputes, and payment lifecycle decisions.
-
Experience with stored credentials, authorize-and-capture flows, installment billing, deposit billing, or similar API-level payment orchestration.
-
Track record building or scaling payments in a business where pricing, billing, or transaction logic is complex.
-
Technical fluency to read API documentation, write detailed product specs, and hold architecture conversations with senior engineers.
Preferred Experience
-
Stripe Connect migrations, charge model changes, account type changes, or payout model restructuring.
-
Marketplace or platform payment tax, dispute liability, surcharging, convenience fees, or payment-method-specific pricing.
-
Hospitality, travel, property management, reservation platforms, local commerce, SMB software, or operator-focused vertical SaaS.
-
PCI, SOC2, enterprise procurement, or compliance requirements.
-
Accounting integrations such as QuickBooks, Xero, or multi-entity financial structures.
-
POS, terminals, or payment hardware.
Who Thrives Here
The right person is hands-on, high-agency, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to move from strategy to execution. They should be able to understand customers directly, partner closely with technical teams, own the payments experience end-to-end, and drive outcomes without waiting for perfect information.
Pay: $130,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
Work Location: Remote
