Your Opportunity

Product Manager - Retail Systems

Atlanta, GA or Ft. Lauderdale, FL

With a focus on operational reliability, cross-team coordination, and strong vendor partnership, we are seeking an experienced Product Manager - Retail Systems to own the coordination, triage, and roadmap for BrandsMart’s point-of-sale platform.

As the Product Manager for Retail Systems, you will play a pivotal role in owning how BrandsMart identifies, triages, and resolves issues on our point-of-sale platform. You will be responsible for coordinating between stores, internal IT, and our POS vendor, managing vendor-driven changes, and maintaining a roadmap of upcoming platform changes. Your expertise in retail systems, vendor management, and cross-functional coordination will be instrumental in keeping our stores running smoothly.

Katapult, The Aaron’s Company, and Community Choice Financial have combined under a unified enterprise, bringing together complementary brands and capabilities to better serve our customers and communities.

What We Offer

Although not an all-inclusive list, below are some of the benefits that may be important to you and your family. **

  • On-Demand Pay through Dayforce Wallet - request pay you’ve earned between paydays. We’ve found this to be one of the most popular programs with our associates!

  • Excellent Career Advancement Opportunities

  • Paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and holidays.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance - select the plan that best suits you and your family.

  • Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Accounts

  • 401(k) plan with contribution matching.

  • Employee Assistance Program - free access to mental health resources, life coaching, and more for you and your covered family members.

  • Employee Purchase Program

What You’ll Do - Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Strategic Vision: Develop a clear roadmap for BrandsMart’s point-of-sale platform and future retail systems. Partner with stores, IT, and our POS vendor to plan and communicate upcoming changes before they hit the floor.

  • Vendor & Release Management: Track our POS vendor's release cadence and vendor-driven changes, assess their impact on stores before rollout, and manage the day-to-day relationship with our POS vendor.

  • Requirements Definition: Translate the retail systems roadmap into detailed requirements and acceptance criteria that internal IT and our POS vendor can implement against.

  • Issue Triage & Resolution: Own the end-to-end process for how POS issues are reported, triaged, and resolved — from store-level detection through internal IT diagnosis to vendor escalation when needed.

  • Non-Functional Requirements: Ensure the roadmap accounts for the security, reliability, and scalability our stores depend on, not just new features.

  • Store Enablement: Champion the in-store experience by understanding how associates and managers use the POS day-to-day, and work to reduce friction and workarounds caused by system gaps.

  • Roadmap Communication: Maintain and communicate a clear roadmap of upcoming POS changes to stores and internal stakeholders, so teams aren't caught off guard by vendor-driven updates.

  • Systems Expansion: Build the foundation to expand product ownership beyond POS into other BrandsMart business systems over time.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with store operations, internal IT, and BrandsMart’s leadership to align priorities, gather insights, and keep everyone informed as changes roll out.

  • Performance Metrics: Define and monitor key metrics related to POS health and support, such as issue volume, time to resolution, vendor SLA adherence, and store-reported downtime. Use data to prioritize fixes and improvements.

  • Business Acumen: Develop a deep understanding of BrandsMart’s store operations, customer experience, and retail business model.

  • Stakeholder Leadership: Lead without direct authority across stores, internal IT, and our POS vendor, building the trust and relationships needed to keep a fast, collaborative, results-oriented triage process running.

What We’re Looking For – Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • At least 5+ years of experience in product management, ideally with retail systems, POS platforms, or enterprise software supporting store operations.

  • In-depth knowledge of retail systems and store operations, with an understanding of how POS platforms support day-to-day business.

  • Familiarity with enterprise POS platforms, vendor management, and third-party system integrations.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Experience with Jira or similar incident tracking and ticketing tools.

  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and product management tools.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • The ability to meet the physical demands for this position, which frequently includes remaining in a stationary position, moving freely inside and occasionally outside of the office, and the operation of mechanical controls, such as a keyboard.

Nice To Haves - Preferred Qualifications And Skills

  • Strong problem solver with a willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.

  • Comfortable moving forward with less than perfect information, especially useful when triaging urgent store issues.

  • Skilled at managing and resolving conflict through influence rather than reliance on direct authority.

  • Courageous change leader, willing to challenge the status quo in how stores, IT, and vendors work together.

  • Growth-minded, with a passion for learning and continuous improvement.
