Job description

At Roll Credits, we are building the only end-to-end financial automation platform for the production back office, and we need your help to do it!

The entertainment industry is a $2.3 trillion market globally, and we're building software that will help the creatives spend less time on managing expenses and more on creating incredible content.

We are a well-funded hybrid startup with customers creating incredible content like ads with Lebron James, Netflix shows, the Beast Games, and George RR Martin independent films. We're looking for a passionate, self-directed product manager who is excited to be a part of an early stage startup and who is looking for the opportunity to define the standards we will follow for years to come.

This is our first dedicated product hire. You'll own the roadmap alongside the founders and work directly with a small engineering team, payroll, and customer success team shipping into a domain where the details โ€” union rules, state withholding, studio approval chains โ€” are the product.

You will:

  • Spend real time with production accountants, line producers, and payroll coordinators to understand how money actually moves through a production, and turn that into a prioritized roadmap

  • Write clear specs and acceptance criteria that an engineer can build from without a second meeting

  • Partner with engineering, payroll, and customer success day to day โ€” scoping, sequencing, unblocking, and making the call on tradeoffs

  • Own the details of complex, compliance-heavy workflows: union and guild agreements, multi-state payroll rules, approvals, and audit trails

  • Drive adoption and retention across our 200+ production company customers, and close the loop from support tickets and customer calls back into the roadmap

  • Help shape pricing, packaging, and go-to-market alongside the founding team

Experience in the following areas is required:

  • 3+ years in product management, including at least 2 years shipping B2B SaaS

  • Experience taking a product from 0 to 1 โ€” you've defined a product, not just maintained a backlog

  • Comfort with technical concepts: you can read an API spec, write a SQL query to answer your own question, and hold a substantive discussion with engineers about tradeoffs

  • Strong written communication โ€” specs, customer-facing release notes, and internal decision docs

  • Track record of working directly with customers, not through a layer of account management

Experience in the following areas is preferred:

  • Experience at an entertainment payroll or production accounting company (Wrapbook, Cast & Crew, Entertainment Partners, GreenSlate, Media Services, or similar)

  • Working knowledge of production accounting and union payroll โ€” IATSE, SAG-AFTRA, DGA, state-specific withholding, and tax incentives

  • Experience with fintech products involving payments, card issuance, or expense management

  • Experience shipping LLM-powered features or agent workflows

  • Prior experience as the first or one of the first PMs at an early stage startup

Base Salary: $125,000 - $145,000 Equity: 0.5% - 0.75%
