Product Manager - Smart Metering & IoT Solutions

Job Overview

ZENNER Middle East is looking for a technically strong Product Manager with experience in metering technologies, metrology, verification engineering, and product compliance. The role will act as a bridge between the Sales and IoT teams, translating customer requirements into suitable products and integrated solutions.

The ideal candidate should understand product specifications, measurement accuracy, verification and testing procedures, applicable UAE regulations, and the practical application of smart metering and IoT technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a thorough understanding of ZENNER's product portfolio, including water and energy meters, smart metering systems, communication technologies, and IoT solutions.

• Work closely with Sales to understand client requirements and recommend appropriate products and technical solutions.

• Coordinate with the IoT team to validate connectivity, system integration, interoperability, and technical feasibility.

• Support customer meetings, technical presentations, product demonstrations, tenders, and solution proposals.

• Understand metrology principles, meter accuracy, calibration, verification engineering, testing procedures, and applicable technical standards.

• Monitor UAE regulatory requirements, product approvals, certification, type approval, and conformity requirements applicable to metering products.

• Review product specifications, datasheets, technical submissions, and compliance documentation.

• Evaluate new products, technologies, and suppliers based on technical suitability, market demand, and commercial potential.

• Provide product training and technical guidance to Sales and other relevant teams.

• Gather market and customer feedback and coordinate product improvements with internal teams and suppliers.

Desired Candidate Profile Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Relevant experience in product management, metering technologies, instrumentation, or technical solutions.

• Strong understanding of metrology, meter verification, calibration, testing, and measurement accuracy.

• Knowledge of UAE product regulations, certification, and approval processes relevant to metering equipment.

• Experience with smart meters, AMR/AMI, IoT, communication protocols, or utility systems is highly desirable.

• Ability to translate technical specifications into practical customer solutions and support the Sales team in business development.

• Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and presentation skills.

Preferred Background: Smart metering, water or electricity meters, utilities, instrumentation, energy management, industrial measurement, or IoT solutions.
