Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Coordinator to support the successful planning, coordination, execution, and completion of structural steel projects. The role will act as a key coordination point between the Project Management, Engineering, Design, Procurement, Production, Logistics, Site, QA/QC, HSE, and commercial teams, as well as clients, consultants, main contractors, and subcontractors.
The ideal candidate should have strong coordination and documentation skills, a good understanding of structural steel project workflows, and the ability to monitor multiple project activities while ensuring that deliverables are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination

Coordinate day-to-day project activities between internal departments and external stakeholders.

Assist the Project Manager in planning, monitoring, and controlling project activities.

Maintain project trackers for engineering, material procurement, fabrication, delivery, installation, inspections, and handover.
-
Follow up with responsible departments to ensure project activities are completed within the planned schedule.

Monitor project progress and highlight potential delays, risks, and constraints to the Project Manager.

Coordinate meetings with clients, consultants, main contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors as required.

Prepare meeting agendas, minutes of meetings, action trackers, and follow up on outstanding actions.
- Engineering & Technical Coordination

Coordinate with the Design/Engineering team regarding shop drawings, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, connection details, calculations, and technical submissions.

Follow up on drawing submissions, consultant/client comments, approvals, and resubmissions.

Maintain an updated drawing and document register.
-
Coordinate the receipt and distribution of IFC drawings, approved shop drawings, structural details, architectural requirements, and other relevant project documents.

Ensure that the latest approved drawings and documents are communicated to the relevant departments and site teams.

Coordinate technical queries, RFIs, design changes, and site-related technical requirements.

Assist in tracking SSL, FFL, structural openings, embed plates, anchor bolts, and other interfaces relevant to steel works.
- Procurement & Material Coordination

Coordinate with the Procurement and Purchase teams to monitor material requirements and delivery schedules.
-
Follow up on material submittals, approvals, purchase orders, and material deliveries.

Monitor the availability of structural steel, plates, bolts, welding consumables, coatings, and other project-related materials.

Coordinate material requirements with fabrication and site installation schedules.
-
Highlight potential material shortages or procurement delays that may affect project progress.
- Fabrication & Production Coordination

Coordinate with the fabrication/production team to ensure manufacturing activities are aligned with the approved project schedule.

Monitor fabrication progress against planned quantities and milestones.
-
Coordinate release of approved drawings and material information to the production team.
-
Track fabrication status, inspection requirements, painting/coating activities, and readiness for dispatch.

Coordinate with QA/QC regarding inspection and testing requirements prior to delivery.
- Logistics & Delivery Coordination

Coordinate with the logistics team regarding delivery schedules and site requirements.
-
Monitor dispatch and delivery of fabricated steel materials to site.
-
Coordinate delivery sequences based on site readiness and erection priorities.
-
Maintain delivery records and monitor outstanding deliveries.
-
Coordinate with the site team to ensure adequate storage, access, lifting arrangements, and unloading requirements are available.
- Site & Installation Coordination

Coordinate with the Site Team and Erection Team regarding planned installation activities.
-
Monitor site readiness and coordinate required materials, drawings, equipment, manpower, and access.
-
Maintain zone-wise / area-wise / villa-wise progress trackers where applicable.

Coordinate with the Main Contractor and other trades to avoid interface conflicts.

Follow up on site inspections, approvals, punch lists, and outstanding works.

Assist in coordinating corrective actions arising from site inspections and technical observations.
- QA/QC & Documentation

Coordinate project quality documentation with the QA/QC department.

Follow up on material approvals, inspection requests, test reports, certificates, and quality records.

Maintain proper records of approved documents and project correspondence.
-
Assist in preparation and submission of project handover documentation, including as-built drawings, warranties, certificates, and other required closeout documents.

Ensure project documentation is properly organized and readily available for audit or reference.
- Commercial & Contractual Coordination

Assist the Project Manager and Commercial Team in tracking variations, additional works, and changes in scope.
-
Maintain records of client/consultant instructions, approvals, and project correspondence.
-
Support documentation required for variation claims, extension of time, and other contractual matters.
-
Ensure that changes affecting cost, schedule, design, or scope are properly documented and communicated to the relevant departments.
- Reporting & Project Controls

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports as required.
-
Maintain project dashboards, trackers, schedules, and action lists.
-
Track planned versus actual progress for engineering, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and erection.
-
Prepare management reports highlighting progress, delays, pending approvals, and critical issues.
-
Escalate critical project constraints to the Project Manager in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelorโs degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.

3โ7 years of experience in project coordination, preferably within structural steel, steel fabrication, construction, or engineering contracting.
-
Experience in structural steel projects, including fabrication and site erection, is highly preferred.

Good understanding of construction/project documentation and approval processes.
-
Familiarity with structural steel shop drawings, fabrication, erection, material procurement, logistics, and site coordination.
-
Experience working with consultants, main contractors, clients, and subcontractors is preferred.
-
Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
-
Familiarity with project management software, document control systems, or ERP systems is an advantage.

Ability to read and understand engineering and construction drawings.

Core Objective
The primary objective of the Project Coordinator is to ensure smooth coordination and timely flow of information, materials, approvals, fabrication, delivery, and site activities, supporting the Project Manager in delivering steel contracting projects safely, efficiently, within the approved schedule, and in accordance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
