Job description

At Canadian Solar, our vision is to make lives better by bringing electricity powered by the sun to millions of people worldwide. As a leading manufacturer of solar panels, inverters, and energy storage solutions, we've been an industry front-runner since our founding in 2001. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in all parts of our organization as we navigate the complexities of a booming industry.

Throughout Canadian Solar's subsidiaries, e-Storage, Recurrent Energy, MSS and CSI Solar Co., we invest in our employees' growth. Our training programs and promotional opportunities ensure we all can continue to learn. We understand the importance of work-life balance and provide various flexible work options to support our employees' well-being. Join our team to "Make the Difference" by creating a lasting positive impact on the world and the communities where we operate.

THE OPPORTUNITY

** This is a delivery-facing coordination role for someone who combines exceptional administration with the confidence to operate across clients, contractors, engineering teams and construction sites. You will work closely with Project Managers and Project Directors, taking ownership of project controls, document flow and follow through so that actions, submissions and milestones do not drift.

About e-STORAGE

e-STORAGE, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar, designs, manufactures and integrates battery energy storage systems for utility-scale applications. The UK Project Implementation team delivers complex BESS projects through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. Our work depends on disciplined project controls, clear interfaces and accurate, timely information.

**

Role purpose

The Project Coordinator is an embedded member of the project delivery team, not a purely administrative support function. The role supports multiple projects and acts as a close working partner to the Project Manager, coordinating information, maintaining control of deliverables and driving actions through to closure. The successful candidate will be trusted with demanding, detail heavy work and will progressively take ownership of defined project management activities as capability develops.

**

What you will Own **

Project controls, programme and reporting

  • Maintain project trackers, action logs, decision logs, risk registers, deliverable schedules and other project control tools, ensuring information is current, complete and auditable.

  • Track progress against the approved programme and key milestones, obtain updates from responsible owners, identify slippage or missing

  • Support weekly and monthly reporting by gathering factual progress data, checking consistency and preparing clear updates for internal leadership and client review.

  • Coordinate meeting agendas, papers, minutes and actions; confidently speak to status, challenge overdue owners and present updates in open project forums.

**### Document control, transmittals and information flow

  • Own or support the Master Document Register and project deliverable trackers, including document status, revisions, review periods, approvals and resubmissions.

  • Prepare, quality check and issue client, contractor and supplier transmittals in accordance with project requirements; maintain clear records of what was sent, when, to whom and at which revision.

  • Check project documents for completeness, naming, formatting, revision control and required approvals before issue.

  • Maintain organised project workspaces in SharePoint, Smartsheet and other approved systems, promoting consistent folder structures, templates and version control.

  • Coordinate the flow of information between the client, BOP/EPC contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and internal engineering, quality, commissioning, commercial and HSE teams.

Construction coordination and site support

  • Attend UK project sites regularly and build effective working relationships with site teams, contractors and client representatives.

  • Support the Project Manager and Construction Manager with progress verification, delivery tracking, inspections, punch-list items, site records and closure of minor construction actions.

  • Review straightforward construction information, drawings, photographs and records within competence, raising discrepancies or incomplete evidence to the appropriate technical owner rather than making unauthorised technical decisions.

  • Participate in site and coordination meetings, maintaining a visible, confident and professional presence in construction environments.

  • Follow project HSE arrangements, site rules and safe systems of work at all times.

Commercial and contractual administration

  • Maintain registers for notices, variations, instructions, RFIs, early warnings, payment milestones and other contractual correspondence as directed by the Project Manager.

  • Track contractual and client submission dates and review periods, highlighting impending deadlines and overdue responses.

  • Apply sound foundation-level understanding of scope, obligations, records and change control when handling project information, escalating contractual interpretation to the Project Manager or Commercial team.

  • Support procurement and subcontract administration through requisitions, vendor documentation, commitments, delivery status and approval workflows.

Continuous improvement

  • Identify repetitive, unclear or inefficient ways of working and propose practical improvements to templates, trackers, workflows and reporting.

  • Help establish standard, scalable project controls across the UK portfolio while respecting project-specific contractual requirements.

  • Use Microsoft 365 tools and approved digital solutions intelligently to reduce manual handling, strengthen traceability and improve the quality of project information.

  • Take personal ownership of follow-through: clarify the next action, agree the owner and date, and keep momentum until closure.

What good looks like **

  • Project information can be trusted: registers, trackers, transmittals and records are accurate, current and easy to audit.

  • Programme commitments are actively followed up; overdue actions and emerging slippage are visible early rather than discovered late.

  • Project Managers have more time for leadership, commercial decisions and stakeholder management because coordination and administration are under control.

  • Clients and contractors receive clear, professional and timely communication.

  • Processes improve over time, with lessons captured and converted into practical working standards.

** About You **

Essential:

  • Highly organised, resilient and comfortable managing multiple priorities, deadlines and detail-heavy administrative tasks.

  • Demonstrable experience in project coordination, project administration, document control, construction support or a comparable delivery environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, including confidence to speak in meetings, ask direct questions and follow up senior stakeholders.

  • Advanced practical capability in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams; able to build and maintain reliable trackers and reports.

  • Ability to read and understand a project programme, monitor activities and milestones, and translate updates into clear actions.

  • High attention to detail, strong ownership and a habit of checking accuracy before information is issued.

  • Comfortable travelling to and working on active UK construction sites, with a full UK driving licence or reliable means of reaching project locations.

  • Right to work in the United Kingdom.

  • Working knowledge of document registers, transmittals, RFIs, NCRs, ITPs, inspection records, variations and contract notices.

**

**

Desirable :

  • Experience in utility-scale energy, BESS, renewables, electrical infrastructure, EPC or major construction projects.

  • Awareness of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and how good coordination, records and communication support safe project delivery.

  • Foundation level contractual or commercial awareness, including scope, change control, notices, evidence and deadlines.

  • Experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Smartsheet or Autodesk Construction Cloud.

  • Ability to interpret basic civil, mechanical or electrical drawings and recognise when an issue requires technical escalation.

  • Relevant qualification in project management, engineering, construction, business administration or equivalent practical experience.

  • Current CSCS card and/or IOSH, SSSTS or SMSTS training.

### The person we are looking for

You may already be a strong Project Coordinator, Project Administrator, Document Controller or Assistant Project Manager who wants broader delivery exposure. You will be naturally rigorous, willing to challenge constructively and motivated by making projects run better. You do not need to be the technical expert in every discussion, but you must be curious, credible and confident enough to identify gaps, obtain answers and keep actions moving.

### Development and progression

The role offers close exposure to Project Managers, Project Directors and cross-functional specialists across engineering, construction, commissioning, quality, HSE and commercial. For the right individual, it provides a strong foundation for progression toward Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager responsibilities, based on demonstrated capability and business need.

### Working arrangements

  • Remote working, with attendance at company offices, project meetings and UK construction sites as required by the project.

  • Regular domestic travel is a core part of the role and may increase during delivery, construction and commissioning periods.

  • Working outside normal hours may be required to support critical project activities, site access or major milestones.

  • All site activities must be undertaken within the individual's competence and in accordance with site rules, inductions, RAMS and applicable HSE arrangements.

Why join us

  • ย  Work on major UK battery energy storage projects supporting the energy transition.

  • Operate close to live project decision-making rather than from the edge of the delivery team.

  • Build practical experience across the full project lifecycle, from mobilisation and design through construction, commissioning and handover.

  • Join an international organisation with access to experienced specialists across project delivery, engineering and technology.ยท
