Job description

About the Company

This established not-for-profit organisation is entering an exciting period of growth and evolution, with a clear focus on strengthening its capabilities and expanding the services it provides. With a strong roadmap of initiatives ahead, the organisation is investing in its people, processes and technology to support its future.

This is an opportunity to join an organisation where projects have a tangible purpose. The systems, processes and improvements you help deliver will directly support the teams responsible for delivering services, giving you the opportunity to see the impact of your work beyond the project itself.

The organisation offers a collaborative and inclusive environment where people are trusted to take ownership, bring ideas forward and make a meaningful contribution.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership and seeing projects through from concept to completion.

You’ll be responsible for managing projects across the full lifecycle, from understanding requirements and defining scope through to implementation, UAT, change coordination and transition into business-as-usual. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, bringing structure to complexity and ensuring projects deliver practical outcomes.

This is a role for someone who can operate with autonomy and sound judgement. You’ll be trusted to drive your projects forward, build strong relationships, identify risks early and bring people together to achieve the right outcome.

You’ll be joining at an exciting point in the organisation’s evolution, with a strong roadmap of initiatives providing plenty of opportunity to make your mark.

What You'll Do

You’ll take ownership of projects from initial scoping through to implementation and transition, ensuring delivery stays on track and aligned to agreed outcomes. You’ll coordinate the moving parts across business and technology, keeping a clear view of timelines, dependencies, risks and decisions.

You’ll play a key role in making change land effectively, coordinating activities across requirements, testing, UAT, implementation and business readiness. With a strong pipeline of initiatives ahead, you’ll have the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio and contribute to how the organisation delivers change.

  • Lead project planning, delivery and governance from initiation through to completion

  • Coordinate requirements, testing, UAT, implementation and transition activities

  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, timelines and budgets

  • Coordinate vendors and third-party partners where required

  • Prepare project reporting, documentation and status updates

  • Ensure project outcomes are embedded effectively into business-as-usual

What You'll Bring

You’re an experienced Project Manager who brings structure, sound judgement and a practical approach to delivery. You’re comfortable operating in complex environments and can confidently navigate ambiguity while keeping focus on the outcome.

You’ll be a strong communicator who builds trust naturally and knows when to take the lead, ask questions or bring the right people together. You’ll enjoy working in an environment where projects have a tangible purpose and where you’re trusted to make decisions and get things moving.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience delivering projects across the full project lifecycle

  • Strong project management, planning and organisational capability

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Experience working across business and technology teams

  • A relevant Project Management certification such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile or equivalent

  • Workforce, HR, payroll or enterprise systems project experience is advantageous, but not essential

  • Experience within a not-for-profit or purpose-driven environment is advantageous

  • Current National Police Check, Working with Children Check and Australian Driver’s Licence

Not sure if you meet these requirements? Please apply - we are happy to discuss your individual circumstances.
