Job Description

Minor Hotels is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our Finance team. Based in either our

Brisbane or Maroochydore

office

, this role is responsible for managing the financial reporting and performance of a portfolio of properties. Working closely with Hotel General Managers and operational leaders, you will provide valuable financial insights, support commercial decision-making, drive business performance, and act as a trusted finance partner across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare monthly financial reports accurately and within reporting deadlines

  • Complete monthly Profit & Loss reporting and variance analysis

  • Prepare monthly forecasts, annual budgets and cashflow analysis for your portfolio of properties

  • Perform daily and monthly revenue, balance sheet and bank reconciliations

  • Review financial performance with Hotel General Managers, Property Owners and Finance Leadership

  • Provide financial advice and commercial support to operational leaders

  • Assist General Managers in identifying cost drivers and opportunities for improved profitability

  • Analyse business performance and provide actionable recommendations

  • Take ownership of the finance function for an allocated portfolio of properties

  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies

  • Ensure financial controls, compliance requirements and reporting obligations are maintained

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop strong working relationships with Hotel General Managers and operational teams

  • Partner with stakeholders to support business performance and financial outcomes

  • Communicate confidently and professionally with hotel owners and external stakeholders

  • Participate actively in meetings and provide meaningful financial insights

  • Foster open, honest and collaborative communication across the business

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor of Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline

  • Previous experience as a Property Accountant, Hotel Financial Controller or similar finance role

  • Strong financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting experience

  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capability

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Advanced problem-solving and process improvement mindset

  • High level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality

  • Experience within the hospitality industry will be highly regarded

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Additional Information

  • Previous experience as a waitstaff, bartender, or all-rounder in a hospitality environment.

  • A current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification.

  • A warm and approachable demeanour with a positive attitude.

  • Professional presentation and exceptional communication skills.

  • Reliability, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
