You'll contribute to delivering production-grade AI-enabled platforms and services in close partnership with product, engineering, and business stakeholders. This role is hands-on: you'll help build and enhance secure, cloud-native, well-governed AI capabilities, support proof-of-concept (POC) execution. You'll operate as a developing engineer who learns to translate business needs into reliable implementations—contributing to the team's ā€œbuild-and-enableā€ mission by shipping initial solutions while helping document standards, reusable components, and operating discipline that enable sustained delivery velocity and risk-managed adoption.

Job Responsibilities

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems

  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems

  • Builds and enhances cloud-native, microservices-based components under guidance, following established architectural standards.

  • Participates in domain modeling and API/service design discussions to help create maintainable, testable software.

  • Writes secure, high-quality production code, and participate in code reviews; debug issues in your code and assist with resolving issues in team-owned components.

  • Supports operational stability by helping identify recurring issues, writing runbooks, improving monitoring/alerts, and contributing to remediation/automation tasks.

  • Participates in agile ceremonies (standups, planning, refinements, retros) and deliver work in small, well-scoped increments.

  • Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.

  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.

  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development

  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience

  • Exposure to agentic development patterns, including building or integrating LLM/agent-based workflows (e.g., tool/function calling, prompt/version management, guardrails, evaluation/testing, and monitoring), with an understanding of secure and compliant usage in enterprise environments.

  • Proficiency in back-end development with Python and Flask/Django or similar and experience building or contributing to service-oriented/microservices applications.

  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/TypeScript and React/Angular or similar).

  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), distributed systems basics, and web technologies).

  • Experience designing and working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, including data modeling fundamentals.

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and core SDLC practices (version control, CI pipelines, testing, deployments).

  • Understanding of fundamentals of application resiliency and security (e.g., error handling, timeouts/retries, least privilege, secrets management), and willingness to learn firm standards.

  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages

  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.

  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong communication skills and a growth mindset (ability to take feedback, ask good questions, and collaborate effectively).

  • Experience improving quality through unit/integration testing, observability (logs/metrics/traces), and basic automation.

  • Exposure to banking/financial services domain concepts.

  • Familiarity with WebSockets and experience with large scale data processing frameworks like Pyspark
