Job description

  • Perform quality inspections of piping fabrication and installation activities in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, procedures, and project requirements.

  • Inspect piping materials, fittings, flanges, valves, and other components for compliance with approved specifications.

  • Verify pipe fit-up, joint preparation, alignment, orientation, dimensions, and installation requirements.

  • Review piping isometric drawings, GA drawings, specifications, and relevant engineering documents.

  • Verify welding activities against approved WPS/PQR and ensure qualified welders are used.

  • Coordinate and witness inspections with QA/QC, Production, Engineering, and client representatives.

  • Monitor NDT activities and review applicable inspection reports and results.

  • Verify material identification and traceability throughout the fabrication process.

  • Conduct inspections at various stages of piping fabrication, including fit-up, welding, visual inspection, dimensional inspection, and final inspection.

  • Witness hydrostatic pressure testing, flushing, and other piping-related testing activities as applicable.

  • Identify nonconformities and support the issuance, follow-up, and closure of NCRs.

  • Maintain inspection reports, checklists, quality records, and other relevant documentation.

  • Support preparation of final quality dossiers and project handover documentation.

  • Coordinate with Production and Engineering teams to resolve quality issues and ensure timely corrective actions.

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.

  • Promote compliance with company QHSE policies and procedures

Desired Candidate Profile

Education: Diploma or Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Technical Qualification: Relevant QC/Inspection certification. CSWIP, AWS, ASNT, or equivalent certifications are an advantage.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a QC Piping Inspector in Oil & Gas, EPC, fabrication, offshore, or marine projects.

Skills: Strong knowledge of piping fabrication, fit-up, welding inspection, dimensional inspection, material traceability, NDT, hydrotesting, and quality documentation.

Software: Proficient in MS Office. Knowledge of AutoCAD and document management systems is an advantage.

Knowledge: Good understanding of piping drawings, WPS/PQR, ITPs, QCPs, NDT requirements, hydrotesting, and applicable industry codes and standards.
