Quality Assurance Engineer

Role Description

This is a part-time remote role for a Quality Assurance Engineer. The Quality Assurance Engineer will design, maintain, and execute test cases to validate the functionality, usability, and reliability of Learn with a Librarian’s digital products and platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing manual testing, documenting defects, collaborating with developers and content teams to clarify requirements, and verifying fixes. The role also involves contributing to test plans, improving QA processes, and ensuring consistent quality across web experiences, tools, and resources provided to the community.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Quality Assurance and Software Testing, with the ability to apply QA principles to web-based platforms and digital products.

• Hands-on experience with Manual Testing and Test Execution, including systematically validating features and identifying issues.

• Ability to design, organize, and maintain clear and comprehensive Test Cases that reflect business requirements and user workflows.

• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective problem-solving skills.

• Comfort working in remote, collaborative environments and communicating clearly with cross-functional teams.

• Familiarity with issue-tracking tools and basic understanding of development lifecycles (e.g., Agile or Scrum) is beneficial.

• Prior experience testing educational, community, or content-driven platforms is a plus.

• Relevant coursework, certification, or practical experience in software testing or quality assurance.
