Job description

The Quality Assurance Technician supports food safety and quality programs on the production floor. This position performs routine inspections, completes accurate records, and works with production employees to make sure products and processes meet company and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine quality and food-safety checks during production.

  • Complete records accurately and on time.

  • Verify that employees follow food-safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.

  • Identify and report quality or food-safety concerns to the QA Lead or manager.

  • Assist with investigating problems and completing corrective actions.

  • Support HACCP, SQF, and other regulatory or certification requirements.

  • Collect samples and assist with product or environmental testing as assigned.

  • Work cooperatively with production, sanitation, warehouse, and other departments.

  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and good record-keeping skills.

  • Good organization and the ability to handle multiple tasks.

  • Positive, team-oriented approach.

  • Basic knowledge of quality operations in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of HACCP and experience with SQF systems preferred.

  • Ability to help solve problems and communicate concerns clearly.

  • Commitment to company values.

  • Some flexibility in work hours.

  • Bilingual English AND Spanish

  • Document control: Draft and update SOPs, SSOPs, and QA forms; manage change control log.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Food-manufacturing quality or food-safety experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with applicable requirements or agencies such as FDA, USDA, OTCO, GFCO, and OSHA is helpful.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.

  • Ability to bend, lift, stoop, crouch, and kneel intermittently.

  • Ability to work in cold or hot manufacturing environments.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
